You know they don't have to throw bombs just 3-4 yard passes to the outside to open up the "D". If you spread out the "D" you open some holes up the middle.. CovCath did it a lot last year.

 

Yeah, that's exactly it. They've been throwing a lot more but they've mostly been incomplete, which isn't going to change defensive strategy.
