OK....just because you asked. Like most teams in the region GRC lost alot to graduation. We do have coming back, Marc Miller, Robert Hatton. Evan Bennett and Robbie Stenzel that all started at some point in the season. We also have back, Tatum Lewis, Patrick Bailey, Timmy Davis, and Dougie Mason.(all varsity players) Bergman transfer to Alabama or somewhere down South because of his dads job. Height will be a big issue with the Cards this year. I know we have 2 Freshman that are tall coming in....how much they will help the varsity I am not sure.

 

I feel we should be #2 in the region...but this year there will be a much bigger gap between #1 and #2.

I have not heard how they did. I do know that Evan Bennett and Partick Bailey have been playing baseball on a league all summer. Also Dougie Mason, Timmy Davis, and Tatum Lewis play football and have been to those practices. That would leave only Robbie Stenzel, Robert Hatton and Marc Miller with any experience to respresent our team in summer play. This however would give a great opportunity for the new members of the team to get some experience.

Clark county will be in the mix come tourney time, just to big of a school and a great deal of tradition to be down long.

I will agree that Clark County will be in the 10th region tournament and might make it to the finals, but they will not beat Mason this year for the title.

Totally agree with the above assessment, Clark is Clark and they won't turn into sisters of the poor overnight. I think everybody in the 10th is playing for second place to Mason and which for some of these young teams can translate into valuable experience.

Look for some new names that are not known at all and that haven't played on the team in a few years to be solid contributors.

:sssh: :sssh: ..... I will never forget when Bo Harris played his senior year...hadn't played in a few years. When I met nWo at Richmond at the MC game...he said..."Where did this kid come from?" Yes we beat them and no one thought we had a chance. Bo went on to make the Ky all star team, and now is starting for Pikeville College. Could it be interesting in the 10th again this year????

Jake Handshoe of Winchester, returned from the prestigious, invitation-only Junior All-American Basketball Camp in Chantilly, Va., located just outside of Washington, D.C., with the camp’s Most Improved Player Award.

Handshoe and two others received the award.

The camp featured the nation’s upcoming sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders, and the nationally-ranked No. 1 players for the classes of 2010, 2013 and 2014.

Handshoe was invited to the camp after a scout saw him at the Duke University basketball camp. He plays for Conkwright Middle School.

I hear that a freshman from Fleming is joining the Cardinals. Decent player with some size. The transfer road between Flemingsburg and Winchester is well travelled in last few years!!!
