The football season is over for the Panthers. Now, how will the basketball team look with every player now?

I guess they will see on Monday... I think good things are in store for these guys!

What players were on the football team? I know of a couple, but not sure if I missed any.

i am not really sure, I know there are about 9 players on the Football team..several Freshman, 2-3 Soph,a couple of Jr.s and maybe a senior or 2.

Welch back should help...if he can win back his fellow players, sitting out last year to cheer was a little puzzeling to me...as a KHSAA Basketball official, I hope this team can work better together, in the past theses kids would battle themselves instead of their oppsing teams...Good Luck CCHS, I hope this season is a SAFE one!

Welch did not sit out last year to cheer. He sat out last year to focus on the weight room and prepare for the 07 football season. From what I have seen in the Madison Courier it has paid off. Over 1000 yards rushing and another 500 passing and around 250 receiving. With two 1AA schools of high academic standards making offers for football. He cheered for something fun to do with some of his female classmates and learn some gymnastics to further enhance his athletic ability. Just thought I would help you solve the puzzle.

I know Welch is, but is he for sure playing this year?

He is. He will be rusty early, but by district time should be back to form.

Are you serious, that is just to good!:sssh:

Well that is good to hear. I watched him during his Sophomore year and he is one heck of an athlete. He has something that some good athletes that could be great lack, and that is heart. You do not find too many of those kids and Welch is one of them. Best of luck to Welch this coming season and great job on the field. I know the Panthers will miss you and Rose next year.

Welch is a great athlete. I, for one, support his decision to be a member of the cheerleading team last year. I am sure if he is playing basketball this season, that he will work hard and be a leader on the team.

Serious about what, do you not believe what I posted. Really, do you think an athlete of his capability would just stop playing to cheer? Like I said, it was for fun and to give his body/mind a break to prepare for senior season football. Sorry you doubt my post. Don't hate, appreciate what all do as athletes. Be they be from Carroll, Gallatin, or Trimble. Small town folk need to stick together. There may come the day where we may need each other. Thanks TB & G. He will tell any guy out there that cheering is much harder than he ever imagined, but had fun. Any guy who doubts it go give it a try!

Actually most of the freshman team.

WOW! 11 players is quite alot to be missing from basketball practice to get anything accomplished. I am sure Coach Miller will have the boys ready though. I wish the Panthers the best of luck this year!

I think we have only had like 9-10 players able to practice. I am sure it is probably the same for all of the surrounding smaller counties.

I guess they will have to learn the plays fast! I believe they have a scrimmage this Saturday.!

That always seems to be the hard part, learning plays fast is not the easiest thing to do. I think the scrimmage is against CAL. If I am wrong please correct me but it will be a little awkward for the football boys if it is indeed CAL! Good Luck to Carroll Co. as the season gets closer! :thumb:
