Then why didn't you go by it?

The dog days of summer. Somebody is bored.

I'll take McFadden at QB with Slayton at RB running the zone read. NEXT!

Seriously I would probably go with McFadden because of what he had around him. I think WVU had the better line, easier schedule and a MUCH better QB!!!!

With that being said I LOVE watching Slayton play! Their backup is no slouch either.

I'll go with McFadden because of his size and versatility. I think Slaton is a better cutter but McFadden has the power and the speed mixed together. Although, if Slaton keeps his wrists healthy all season they could very well be in the championship game.

Yards Carries Avg/carry Avg/game TD's

McFadden 1647 284 5.8 117.6 14

Slayton 1744 248 7.0 134.2 16

Not sure how this will come out, but here are their 2006 statistics from their respective school's website. This obviously doesn't account for the passing that Darren did or their receiving yards. Slayton had 2104 all purpose yards and McFadden had 2127. So all in all their stats are very similar.

Given all this and that McFadden probably faced a little tougher defense and maybe a bit more versitle. I would have to go with McFadden, even though I like Slayton a bit better. (does that make sense?)

It makes perfect sense. Of the two, you like Slaton better. You just don't think he's the better player.
