Cincinnati Midland Redskins and Luke Maile

Featured Replies

The Midland Redskins approached the Kentucky Colonels Manager Walt Terrell to ask if they could talk to Luke Maile about playing with them in their effort to win the Connie Mack Regional and then hopefully go on to Farmington, NM for the Connie Mack WS....Walt told them yes; and told Luke to go for it. So, now with the Ky Colonels season being over, Walt has release Luke to the Midland Redskins for the remainder of this season.

I was told that the Midland coach thinks Luke will probably catch everyday, but on the day's he doesn't catch, his bat will be in the lineup, somehow.

The Midland Redskins have practice on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, and then start play in the Connie Mack WS Regional which I believe starts on Thursday or Friday at the Midland Complex.

So congrats to Luke......

Well done and best of luck, at the CM Regionals.

Wow!!!!!!!!! That's pretty impressive.:thumb:

Is this the 18 or 17 team?

He is probably 1 of very few from this area on that team .Being based out of Cincinnati, they seem to get alot of kids from all around the country .Best of luck to Luke .

From what I understand the seventeen year old team is the Indians and the 18 year old team is the Redskins. I was told he will be playing for the Redskins the 18 year old team.

If he's playing on the older team and he's going to be the catcher that means he's playing in front a kid going to Ohio State.

Yikes.

Of course Luke will be joining the 2006 NKy Player of the Year Corry Farris from Boone County High School, who is an outstanding player in his own right. Will be nice to see two of our best, on the same team for the first time.

Good luck to both fine young men, on playing for the Redskins. If anyone knows the time and on what day they play this week, please post it. Thanks....

From what I heard, their number 1 catcher got drafted....the #2 (current #1 is the Burkhart kid from Moeller who will be going to OSU....he and Luke will be alternating behind the plate...Corey is doing very well in ofield mostly.

Wow! That's pretty strong. A kid who has not had JR history yet alternating with a D1-to-be catcher.

How often does a JR-to-be start for Midland?

Great job to Luke. He's pretty much amazing. Whats going on with Farris though he didn't catch all that much during the regular season either?

Nothing wrong with Corry at all. He has played the outfield mostly and when he wasn't, he was the DH. In the games I saw him played he was hitting the cover off the ball. Luke and Corry will both be catching a jet out of CVG come Thursday on there way to Farrington New Mexico, to play in Connie Mack WS.....

Alright good! I thought I had remembered him playing mainly catcher in the past at Boone until this year then heard about it at Midland. Just making sure there wasn't a knee problem or something involved since he has such a promising future.
