FYI, I believe the year after Cooper opens that Warren Co. will be opening a new high school in the Rich Pond area out 31W. As far as I know this school is unnamed at this time.

That way the shortened name can be "CoopDawgs".

Another name that I thought of would be "Warriors" bc Randy Cooper certainly was a Warrior.

I will say that if they want to keep with the theme of naming the school after him, then they should look into a) the things that he liked the best, b) the type of person he was, or c) where he was from to pick a mascot.

 

So often these days people want to name their teams after another team because they like the original team, well I think the name should have more of a meaning than that.....I feel the same way about naming a child as well but thats for another time and place in the future for me lol.

 

I would vote for Dawgs or Ramblers. Now since Holy Rosary High in Louisville is no longer around, Cooper High School would be the only one in the state to have "Ramblers" as the mascot if I'm not mistaken.

I don't know about State Wide, I do know that Randy's h.s. alma mater was Raceland were named the "Ramblers", they went to the "Rams" in the early to mid 70's.
