HDE
The rule is extremely lenient. Anyone in high school nearing their 20th birthday has no room for complaint about eligibility issues.

Villa T
How many students does this rule really affect? Does anyone have a number, no player names, of kids at any schools?
HDE
There's no way to know statewide. We get one in Harlan County every four or five years it seems.
HHSDad
Sorry that I questioned you, you were correct.CSHS81 is certainly a fount of knowlege, but if we don't question everything he says, he's going to start making up stuff.

calm like a bomb
I think this rule just promotes the idea of holding kids back for sports. When I graduated highschool, I was 17 and turned 18 a month after graduation, while my friend was almost 20 years old (he was an all state football and basketball player)! Give any athletic kid a two year jump on other kids in their grade and I almost guarantee they will be better.
