steelcurtain
We seem to always talk about the scorers and point guards on here. Lets show some love to the Bigs....Who are some of the top #5's in the ninth this year?
Tiger1
Knoll from CovCath Nelson from Holmes
cch5432
Knoll from CovCath Nelson from Holmes If that is the case then the 9th is in a lot more trouble than usual in the paint than most years. I'd say a short list is: Grimes from CovCath (he plays inside even though he is short) Mace from Dixie (rapidly improving) The kid from Boone, Earls, maybe. Noll and Nelson would make it somewhere. NKYBOY1487
In this order from what I saw last season: Nelson-Holmes Mace-Dixie Earls-Boone Maley-Ryel (If he'd ever post up on the inside) Noll-CovCath
CHSalum07
In this order of big men 1. Nelson (Holmes) 2. Mace (Dixie) 3. Anderson (Conner) The most under rated player in the region in my mind. 4. Noll (Cov Cath) 5. Earls (Boone)
budman0209
Luke Mace will be the best big man in Northern Kentucky by a large margin. He is the biggest, strongest and has really improved his game and conditioning. You can throw the rest in a hat and pull out a name. Noll, Earls, Nelson, etc.. Not much difference with this group. All three of these individuals play with our AAU club and all can play. Somone that might suprise some people will be Tate Nichols at Ryle. He is a big strong post player. The only thing that will be the question with him will be when the football team finishes their season.
CHSalum07
Micah Pugh of Conner is a name for everyone to remember. Micah was a starter all his junior year and went up against people twice his size. He needs to gain a little weight to be a big presence down low in the post but still should have a good year.
DMZ76
Gotta give some "luv" to Luke Stein @ Highlands. Not the "classic" big man in terms of height...but a strong physical presence in the paint. He can "bang" with the best!

He has hands of stone and how can you say he has improved his conditioning? Every game I saw the Jazz play this summer he only played when Roberts was in foul trouble or needed a breather. I think I remember having these same conversations last summer about Mace and how much he had improved and that was going to be the year he dominated. I have even seen some putting him on their Top Ten Ninth Region Players. I hope he has improved but I will take Noll from CovCath or Nelson from Holmes over Mace every time. They are both going to be on the court and give you great effort every time.

Luke is a football player but can mix it up with any big man in the Region. I gurantee he will give whoever the best big man is many fits in the lane this season. Offensively he is a good garbage man.

Not sure about that. I heard a couple guys quit the team so he may be on these most recent trips with them to back up Roberts in the event he gets in foul trouble. I havent run into their coach around town lately as he has been traveling obviously quite much.
