Did Chase Dumphford Leave Michigan State Already?

I hope it is not true. I hate to see a kid walk away from a free education and the chance to play some football while doing so. If it is true I hope he gets the chance to enroll at another school so he has the opportunity to obtain his degree.

If true I hope that Dumphford can and does enroll at another school to get his college education. Playing football would be a plus and hopefully he can play somewhere else and football can help finance his college education. Playing time does not mean as much as that degree. Good luck to C.D..

If he chooses to not fulfill his LOI obligations by attending the shool for one year, he will a)have to sit out and b)lose a year of eligibility. Someone needs to get in his ear and tell him to get back to Lansing when classes start.

He didn't play in the KY All-Star game due to an injury, could this be linked to that? I'd like to see a link to this story before I believe he up and walked away from a full-ride to a D1 school.....

From kentuckysportsradio.com:

(2) Paris (Ky.)'s Chase Dumphord (OL, 6′7, 320) who signed with Michigan State but apparently has come home and Lexington (Ky.)'s Quintin Borders (OL, 6-7, 320) who enrolled in Colorado but is seeking a transfer could possibly find there way to UK's football team in the future. Dumphord can return to Michigan State if he wants too, but might enroll as a regular student elsewhere. Borders' girlfriend goes to Kentucky, so some are assuming UK is his likely destination, but he would need scholarship funding to play and UK football is low on athletic scholarships. Also, additionally, Kentucky could also attempt to bring in 2006 signees Lamarckus Boswell (WR, 5-9, 165) from Greenville (SC) and LaRay Foote (RB, 5-10, 175) from Memphis (Tn.), who both have been seen in Lexington the past two months.

I agree but if he doesn't have the desire to play for whatever reason, all the talking in the world will not help. Giving him positive advice though such as you mentioned is worth a try especially if it keeps him in the classroom.

If he has ANY plans on playing ANYWHERE he should get to Lansing. If he decides that football is no longer for him....
