dawgs83
According to the courier-journal UofL signee Preston Knowles missed curfew and has been dismissed from the team. He said he had to take care of personal problems at home. He could return for the next game. This is a big loss for the team.

PRESSROW
What a shame, yet not surprising with his track record in high school. World of talent, hopefully his ship can turn back in the right direction if he is to go to UofL. Certainly not a good way to enter with being dismissed from your own states All Star Team. rockmom
Why do we have to respond so negatively toward anyone in this situation? If Knowles truely had a family situation to deal with, then he needed to take care of it. The coach has to do what he has to do as well. "We asked him why he missed curfew, and he said he had some personal problems back home," Hardin said. "So we're going to let him go home and take care of those problems. He could come back next week." It's not a disciplinary issue apparently, so it seems both parties came to an agreement that he needed to prioritize his personal life over the team at this point, and they understand. STRIKE3
I thought the article writer, could have used a different word, rather than dismissed, since Coach Hardin indicated he could come back next week.

STRIKE3
Agreed, S3.The term "leave of absence", would be appropriate in this situation. If he missed curfew for legitimate reasons, as he indicated or otherwise, the offer to "come back next week", doesn't indicate a permanent dismissal. I know both Coach Hardin and Coach Bevars, are men of character.
footballfever
Seems he could have easily made a cell phone call and told the coach if it were a legit reason.
