June 14, 200719 yr Yeah, I was thinking that the "no talent" comment was a bit harsh, being that he has won the Daytona 500, the Pepsi 400, numerous races at Taladega, and at assorted other tracks. One or two races MIGHT be a fluke, but not as many as he has won. If my memory serves me correctly, didn't he win one or two Busch series championships? I do forget, though, how many total races has he won? 17 wins in Nextel Cup. He's also won the all-star race and the Bud Pole Shootout. I believe he's also won a couple of qualifying races at Daytona. He did win two Busch series titles and 13 Busch races before moving up to the big league. He's finished the season in the top 10 in points 4 times (3 times in the top 5). I'm pretty sure that puts him ahead of Kyle Petty when it comes to racing success.

If Busch makes the jump to DEI, it could be possible both drivers will be in their same cars next year IMO.
June 19, 200719 yr ^That would be great....but from Dale Jr. and Hendrick's standpoint, wouldn't it almost be better to change up numbers? It seems that from a marketing perspective, that would allow for a bit more profitability as far as merchandise sales go. It's something to think about, but I'd really rather see him in the 8. Otherwise, I'll be doing a lot of redecorating.

I don't believe he'll can either #. Jr will drive the #5, most likely w/ Kellogg's sponsorship. This will lead to the most $ in Jr's and Hendrick's pockets'. New sponsor for Jr means all his fans will be buying new hats, shirts, jackets, Fatheads, etc.

I went to every Daytona 500, Bristol race, and four or five more a year from 1982 until 1997 and a few since then. It was talked about all the time. I know for a fact that in the early 90's, when my family was getting out of being a low level sponsor, that some people in NASCAR was investigated for fixing sporting events by the FBI..............

Being investigated doesn't mean it happened. I would say since nothing came of the FBI's investigation, that only proves nothing improper occurred.
