Maybe they can knock off IU in the 1st round. Well. If IU gets in... :p

All kidding aside Brian Kelly and staff are doing a heck of a job since taking over 6 months ago. Nippert should be a lof of fun for the first time in a long time...

Seriously though. Big blow to IU, I had thought they might make big improvements with that hire.

No doubt. I dealt with Hoep a few times in his final 2 years at Miami and he was first class all the way...

It's huge, he really had things going in the right direction.

But that's another thread, good pickups for UC!

Serious question, I don't follow football recruiting at all....Are 3-star recruits a bigger deal in football than basketball?

I would say they are a big deal in both.

I would say so, because of the size difference between squads and the fact that more football players with lower star ratings turn out to be big time gamers. Look at a few of the 2 & 3 star guys (no JUCOs) from UofL that might turn your head:

2007:

Vic Anderson (3)

Doug Beaumont (3)

Josh Chichester (3)

Matt Sims (3)

Patrick Grant (3)

2006:

Anthony Allen (3)

Eugene Sowell (3)

Latarrius Thomas (3)

LT Walker (3)

2005:

Trent Guy (2)

JaJuan Spillman (2)

2004:

Mario Urrutia (3)

Gary Barnidge (2)

Brandon Cox (2)

Breno Giacomini (2)

Adrian Grady (2)

Lamar Myles (2)

George Stripling (2)

Eric Wood (2)

2003:

Harrry Douglas (3)

Will Gay (3)

Kolby Smith (3)

Malik Jackson (2)

Amobi Okoye (2)

Jon Russell (2)

Brandon Sharp (2)

Sergio Spencer (2)

Some of those guys are already in the NFL, and some of them will be pretty soon.

Are people going to show up at games this year?
