Pray UK doesn't get another Woo....

STAR OF UK ELITE CAMP STRONG, RAW

By Jerry Tipton

Kentucky basketball's Polish connection might extend beyond Lukasz Obrzut.

Olek Czyz, a 6-foot-8 native of Poland now living in Reno, Nev., is weighing a scholarship offer from the University of Kentucky after attending Coach Billy Gillispie's Elite Camp last weekend. Kyle Schellin, who coaches Czyz at Reno High, said the player planned to make campus visits this fall before picking a college.

Czyz (pronounced Chizz) apparently played well in the Elite Camp, where his vertical leap was measured at 40 inches. Schellin described Czyz as athletic and strong but raw.

"He doesn't have that consistency to his game," Schellin said. "He's unpolished as a player. He's just a shell of what he will be."

Czyz, who is not rated among the top 100 players in the Class of 2008 by the Prep Stars recruiting service, made a big first impression on Schellin. Having moved to Reno going into his freshman year, Czyz was playing basketball in ninth-grade gym class when the coach first saw him.

"Doing windmills (dunks) and stuff," Schellin said.

Now Czyz has scholarship offers from Washington State, Arizona State, Pepperdine and Santa Clara as well as Kentucky. Other schools showing interest include Syracuse, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Duke and UCLA, Schellin said.

Closer to home, UK has not offered a scholarship to Dakotah Euton, a 6-8 player from Ashland Rose Hill. Euton also played in the UK Elite Camp.

His father, Clay Euton, said Dakotah Euton planned to participate in Florida's Elite Camp this weekend. Dakotah had been told he'll work with the prospects that Florida finds most appealing, his father said.

Yeah, it'd be terrible for UK to pick up a kid being recruited by UNC, Duke, and UCLA.

Never saw Woo windmill the entire time he was here. I was told this kid can absolutely jump out of the gym. Sounds like he would be a good pick up. I was also told he's just going to be junior, so wouldn't that make him a 2009 signee?

I read that....It appears Pitino will offer a job to his AAU coach...Kinda makes you wonder if there wasn't more to the decommittment situation last week.

I't been said but he does look like a 10 year old little boy....lol thats funny.

What is the latest here?

Anyone heard?
