May 12, 200719 yr So close, but still so far away. Ricky goes to Canada just to prove he is dedicated to get back into the league, takes all the right steps, and now with camps getting ready to fire back up and with Ricky getting ready to try (and more than likely would have been awarded) reinstatement, he fails another test. A lot of people joke about it, and I'll admit I have too in the past being my joking personality, however this is truely a sad case. Ricky had so much going for him and was the man. I mean he was the LT of four years ago, now he's once again smoked his way back home into a shanty doing self herbilation practices. It's like a rags to riches, then back to rags story and he's been in control of the whole saga, but the sad thing is he just hasn't been in control of anything else. Theres a thin line between doing what you want and doing what you need, and Ricky has kicked dirt all over it to where you can no longer even see the line. In his own mind he is happy because he is still doing something he enjoys (obviously more than football), but I really am disapointed being that I was hoping for a descent comeback. I used to love his game, but now it appears all but over well before it even got maxed out.
May 12, 200719 yr This is the exact thing that scares me with the Bengals issue and what we have seen with them. People say it is just about winning but when you have a key cog in the weaponry that you cannot count on, whether you end up not winning. Bengals missed Odell and it hurt. Dolphins missed Williams and it hurt and will hurt again. Bengals will miss Henry and it will hurt. Bengals end up without Odell and it will hurt. You can make whatever claims you want but when you draft and sign people with questionable characters except that you are counting on them and there is probably going to be a day that they are not going to be there and a key weapon is going to be gone. :thumb: You make some very good points here lbbc.
May 12, 200719 yr They should just ban the pot head from pro football for life and be done with it. Let him stay in his "happy place" and the news and media quit covering this waste.
May 12, 200719 yr He is the reason IMO that they should start drug testing college players. All sports not just football. You know Ricky habit just didn't start in the NFL. It just happen soon enough for Ricky.
May 13, 200719 yr Ricky Williams self-medicates for a pretty serious social anxiety disorder, which everyone knows he has. He has, IMO, more serious concerns than playing in the league. There's so many disorders nowadays. There's SAD, Manic depression, bipolar, what happen to crazy, lunatic, etc.
May 18, 200719 yr Ricky "Cheech" Williams is letting his career go up in smoke..  As a Die hard Fins fan it makes me :madman: & He needs major help
May 18, 200719 yr  As a Die hard Fins fan it makes me :madman: & He needs major help The first place he should look for help is in the "mirror". Just my two cents worth.
May 18, 200719 yr Anybody ever heard, "Crazy White Kids" by Chris Rock? Nothing really to do with this thread but yeah...
May 18, 200719 yr Well, it looks like Ricky could not stay away from the weed! http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2867381 http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-511williams,0,3008209.story?coll=sfla-dolphins-front I was honestly hoping that he had put his drug habits behind him & was able to provide the Dolphins with another offensive weapon (on the football field), but I seriously doubt that will will happen now. "Falling off the wagon is part of rehab," a source said. How many trips to the hay does a man get????
