Just putting 2+2 together, perhaps I shouldn't speculate. I know Tommy was comming back from an inury and that may have had something to do with the decission.

Neither speculation is correct as I will not go into details due to it is Tommy's business why he left the team. Maybe, just maybe, he did not want to play any more. Let's all leave well enough alone, please.

I asked politely even!

What about Luke Maile for Cov Cath probaby one of the best underclass in the state

Does he pitch ? I thought he was only a catcher .

Last 4 varsity games for Beechwood the starters have been 3 sophs and a 8 th grader .Add AJ Smith to the sophs list .Pitched great vs Holy Cross in the Doc Morris Sat .Held that L/U in check only allowing 3 runs . :thumb:

Beechwood- Elliot & Bankemper

CCH - Nutini, Isler, Niehause

Ryle- Seabald, Luvin, Reider, Fleishel

What about Sainola @ CCH? Didn't he throw a no-no against HHS? Or is he coming back??

Elliot for beechwood is good. But the best junior in the 9th region is Corey Farris. I don't know what everyone else thinks? This is not directed to be against Elliot because he is right up there. But the term best junior would be imo definitely Corey Farris.

But Farris doesn't pitch, does he? Thread said best pitchers. But yes, Farris is the best all around Jr. for sure.

hey baseball guy that is my bad!! I completely missed that one..Then yea I agree Elliot is probably the best.

Correct, Corey does not pitch, he ONLY catches. I don't think you can say he is the best all around JR. Don't get me wrong, he is one heck of an athlete and probably the best catcher, but all around?

Elliott does it all for Beechwood, plays CF, SS and pitches and since this is a pitching thread, Elliott is the best pitching JR. Smith/Snyder are both Soph at Beechwood who have been pitching well and then that little 8th grader that no one has mentioned, Bertke, got his 1st V win a few weeks ago throwing a complete game and also pitching very well against HC in Doc Morris losing 3-2. Let's not forget the other JR's at BHS, Hadden and Gohs throw well too when they can find the plate.

There are alot of good #1 pitchers in NKY but they can not all throw every game. I see this yrs region coming down to who has the most # of arms who can get on the mound and throw strikes. I see the Beechwood dist being very interesting w/CCH and HC. All three can beat anyone on a given day.

Roenker, freshman from Holy Cross, has been pitching pretty well at the varsity level thus far

17 innings/2.43 ERA so far. Could be better but don't have stats from this week included in those totals.

You will hear big things from young Mr. Roenker in future years. He has a good lively fastball, hard sharpbreaking curve, and decent changeup (some improvement needed there) to go along with very consistent control. Plus he posesses the other important entangibles - very smart, willing to listen and learn, bulldog competitiveness, but still humble, polite, and respectful towards his opponents.

I going to have to remember to keep all the forms he's signed for my team the past few years so that I can sell them on eBay one day when he reaches the big show. :ylsuper:
