April 25, 200719 yr I agree. I just disagree about the 73%. I also have a problem with how the 73% often finds it's way into the pockets of people who had the same opportunities yet did not want to do the work required to make the fortune you did. Also, please note that many people in the above scenario have already given back huge amounts in income tax during their lifetime. How much is enough in your opinion? :thumb: :thumb:
April 25, 200719 yr Anybody on here ever given away the legal limit allowed by the IRS? IRS limits refer to the % of adjusted gross income of a given taxpayer. Most charities are what are referred to as "50% charities" meaning that you can deduct an amount upto 50% of your adjusted gross income in a year for deductions to these charities. Any amount contributed in excess of 50% of the taxpayer's adjusted gross income can then be carried forward and used as a deduction in future (in general).

Without taxes to afford such things we would not have to have worried about it as we would be speaking either Japanese or German.
