2007 Scott

You all should beat Holmes. Regardless of what happens the week prior to playing Holmes. Holmes did not fair to well in the 7-on-7's. Holmes has speed, speed, and more speed. But thats it.

I would never take any team for granted, especially Holmes.

With the way the schedule sets up, If this team plays the way they are capable, this team can go 7-3 losing all 3 games in district. I think it is realistic that this team will be 5-5 and making it to the playoffs, bowing out to Highlands in the first round.

I would never count wins like this or make any great assumptions. At this stage of the game everybody is just getting into full contact drills for the first time in about 9 months. It is still three weeks until the first game. I am just hoping that the team can stay healthy and focused on improving as a team. If they do, the wins should take care of themselves...

Scott 2007 Defense.

In the middle of Scott's defense will he the hard hitting linebacker duo of Joe and Trevor Forrester. The two are cousins and will be seniors this year. Joe, the larger of the two had 15 tackles and a sack before being sidelined with an injury early in '06. Trevor had 37 solo tackles. Also, working at linbacker will be senior Ryan Bianchi. Besides working various roles on offense, Bianchi had 7 tackles, 1 sack, and a fumble recovery.

Scott's defensive line will highlight senior Stanley Droege (13 tackles / 2 sacks / 1 fumble recovery) and David Mullins (13 tackles / 3 sacks / 1 fumble recovery).

The secondary will be staffed with seniors Jordan Adkins (who also plays varsity basketball and baseball) had 19 tackles in '06 and the versatile Curtis Spenser who had 14 solo tackles, 2 interceptions, and a fumble recovery while also getting many reps on offense.

I believe Coach Fisk has the right idea with scheduling, unfortunately it will be a steep uphill battle vs the big three, so 7-4 is the best they can do.....

Sorry. You are correct. My mistake...

I'm hearing that the Scott / Lloyd scrimmage set for Friday night at Dixie is being moved to 0800AM Saturday morning. Will confirm Tuesday afternoon...

The scrimmage will be held from 0800 - 1000 AM Saturday morning at Lloyd High School...

SCOTT needs to look into running other offenses. They stayed in the spread nearly 100% of the time last year. While they have some great skill players they still haven't found out how to use them. I was unable to attend the scrimmage this weekend, but I have been told they are still running the spread. BIG mistake IMHO. They need to find a way to keep the ball in Spencer and Bianchis hands to enable them to take advantage of the speed of Hankinson after setting up the pass with the run. The past couple of years they have really been unable to put points on the board and have burdened the defense by playing the short field. One Big problem I see is that they were heavily ladened with seniors on both sides of the ball last year and that will hinder them some coming into the season. With the exception of the players named in this thread it will be interesting to see if they have anyone else that can step it up. Particularly in the trenches.

You got the right recievers, but Spencer is much faster than Hank, but I will take Hanks hands over anybodys on the offensive side of the ball.

You must have Scott confused because they return a lot of a skill players on both sides of the ball, basically other than R. Kelly they didnt lose anything in the defensive back 7, but both the offensive and defensive lines were hit hard by graduation, and from what i have heard, they both looked pretty bad on saturaday.

What does the freshmen team look like? In years past they have had pretty limited numbers out for the freshmen.

Read the last sentence of my post. PARTICULARLY in the TRENCHES. Yes I agree that Spencer is faster than Hankinson, and that is why they need to use him more as a slash back than a receiver. Theyhad trouble getting him the ball. He needs to be running the ball.

The thing is he is much better reciever and Joe is a good running back. You made it sound like they were devasted everywhere by graduation.

Can Spencer handle the beating that would come along with that? Also Joe's only good for inside hes not fast enough to get the corner.

Joe F. will try to run over you, but doesn't have the speed to pull away . Both are good players , but I think a mix of both would be nice for the O ! If you run a spread O , Spence might be the better choice , like Molony or Brock with Dixie . Joe will get his yards , but can he break the game open?

There are more than twenty seniors on the roster this year...
