His style is not more open or at a faster pace.

And yes it is, I really dont know why you are questioning this. Yeah its not as fast of a pace of a style say at Pitino ran when he was here, but is a faster style that Tubby's. So its pretty much in the middle between the two, and is something that I think people would be happy with...

No they wouldn't.

His teams run when given the opportunity but do not push the pace. Much like Tubby's teams did. He is a great coach but IMO most UK fans will not accept a "take what they give you" style of coach. The same group the constantly griped about Tubby would have the same issues with Wright. Not enough flash.

I'm not saying its right but I could see history repeating itself. I don't think he would be in the top 5 if you polled UK fans on who they wanted as a coach.

I disagree I think he would make the top 5 of alot of people. And yes Villanova's offense is alot more open and moves more. I am a guy who is a Tubby supporter, but I also know that Jay Wrights offense would have alot more movement and at a faster pace that people would like because it would be more open than Tubbys. Would it be as fast of a pace at Pitino's no it wouldn't, but it would be at a faster pace than Tubby's and people would like it...Also here is an article that has someone agreeing with me on this, and not you. As I said before, I really dont see why you are arguing this, because Wrights offense is more open and more movement, and that is all there is to say...

I just really think it is funny that 3 of the coaches that have been mentioned to maybe replace Tubby: Izzo, Crean, and Wright were all 8 or 9 seeds this year just like us. And well remember 8 or 9 seed is not suppose to cut it, yet we have fans who wouldn't have a problem with them here....

Yes these coaches were 8 and 9 seeds in the tourney, but they weren't at a top level basketball school either. An 8 or 9 seed is unacceptable on a regular basis at UK but not at some places.

That is a big difference.

His offense does run more motion than Tubby's. But even you have said it is not a face paced offense or pressing defense to speed up the game. I believe the UK fanatics want a style similar to Pitino's when he was in Lexington or the style of play that Bruce Pearl is playing with the Vols. I don't see them accepting a guy that A. does not have the name recognition and B. does not play a fast past pressing style of basketball.

No what I said its not as fast as Pitino's was when he was here at UK, but there are very few coaches who do what Pitino did while here at UK. Jay Wright does run a faster pace style of offense, and people would like that. Now if we got Jay Wright after Pitino, they might not have liked it. But going from Tubby's to Wrights they would because it would be more of an open system and a fun system that players like to play in. You can ask many people, and if you look at what people say about Wright they all say he runs a more open faster style, your the only one I have seen who says it is pretty much the same as Tubby's...If its just because you dont want him here that fine, but dont go saying it is like Tubby's because that is not true....

An upgrade? Absolutely not, but it would be a lateral move IMO. I think as of now Wright is actually #2 in line after Billy D.

Actually what I meant is Jay Wright (and again, I really like Jay) really an upgrade over Tubby? I know I'm one of the few that wish Tubby were still here, but I just am not sure that Jay Wright is an upgrade for the UK program.

His style is not more open or at a faster pace.
