March 27, 200719 yr So you wanted Tubby gone, now he's gone and your crying about how he left. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize you can't have it both ways. Imo most wanted him fired and can't stand the fact that he went out on HIS terms.
March 27, 200719 yr Given the situation and the uncertainty that hung over his head, I don't blame him one bit for listening to offers from other schools. Tubby is about as loyal a person as you will ever find. At some point, though, you have to understand that he had to think of his future and his family. He had no idea if he would have a job at UK after the season ended. If you were operating under similar circumstances on your job, with the cloud of uncertainty hanging overhead, I cannot believe you would turn a deaf ear to other job offers. Or would you wait until the day after your employment ended to START looking at other possibilities? Exactly. Additionally, "how he left" is irrelevant. Say what you want, but the guy was pretty much forced to leave because of the recent situation of UK basketball, yet you expect him to do what? Stay the rest of the spring and recruit? Build up a top level team, which he was, apparently, currently unable to do? I don't get it. You wanted him to leave because the basketball team wasn't doing well, he left, and a week removed it (SURPRISE!) still isn't doing well.
