2007 Russell

Glad to hear that Russell changed radio broadcast affiliations for the upcoming season. This year's games to be broadcast on WLGC 105.7. I'm betting this will be an improvement from the last few seasons.

:thumb: :thumb: It certainly should.

Love that Woody picture ... It just says football - takes me back .... Radio station should have more range than previous years , wonder why the change ? Hopefully will still have Doty Shell Mart First Down - Devils ... You gotta love small town football .....

Agree about Woody. To answer your question, I think Clear Channel (the

company that owns 107.1) is pulling back from local sports and I believe

WLGC has wanted to do Russell games for a few years. I have heard a couple

of things about the 1st Down, so I'm not sure if Doty's still has it or not. I do

know almost for certain that the Relacore commercials, along with seemingly

constant PSA's, are likely to be down this year and that local advertisers are

going to have a more prominent position.

Might I add that I'm looking forward to listening to Red Devil games from

far away College-land next season. It should be a very interesting season

with Mason County, Simon Kenton, and Raceland as new additions to the

schedule - thumbs up to Sam Sparks on those latter two additions. I would

assume, perhaps incorrectly, that Drew Abrams will be getting the majority

of the carries in the halfback position as opposed to David Bailey. However,

both backs have the potential for a very good season.

Could we see some three back backfield from the Devils with these two plus

the FB Will Rice?

right now that seems to be what is shaping up. Also a question? I've also heard that 105.7 is doing the raceland games? Are they going to be on the AM side, tape delayed or on Saturday AM etc?

Also, "Meet the Devils" scheduled for tuesday, has been changed from 7pm to 8pm due to heat.

Come catch a glimpse of this year's squad an enjoy a "dinner" with some good old pork and all the fixin's!!

Also congratulations to this year's captains;

Tyler Jones

Adam Foster

Tobey Hicks

Mickey Brown

Evan Boyd

I had understood that they would do some of the Fairview games too???

I know that they had been broadcasting fairview for the past 3 or 4 years, but someone had told me they were covering raceland this year. I might check out their website and see if their is any info about the games this year.

I don't believe that Raceland is currently in this season's plans for WLGC,

at least not on FM.

WLGC has been trying hard for the last several years to get Russell sports and they finally agreed on a deal. 105.7 FM will now be the voice of Red Devil football.

Thanks for the information guys, so we'll being seeing alot of Mr. Robinson this year!! Looking forward to it.

Kent Robinson and Rick Mayne will be doing the games. I'm looking forward to the change. I think Clear Channel gave us short shrift these last few years. It was obvious that their focus was not in North East KY. football.
