I'm not disputing the fact that Hobbs )or someone) screwed up the lineup card,or that he and the other assistants may be on thier way out....It just irks me that Billly Packer would make the statement on national TV,when the only person on CBS or any other (sic..ESPN) station who has a clue about the college game is Clark Kellogg and he's stuck in the studio doing commentary!! (I guess I just had too much of Curt Gowdy doing baseball in the 70's with an obvious Dodgers bias!!!)

Jay Bilas is about the best color man in the business.

Doesn't help Hobbs' job status. OTS in his post-game interview said it was Hobbs that messed up. He actually joked about it.

I thought it was funny! They could have let him play until play stopped. He sure is good at picking up a foul though, isn't he?

Agreed. It's not a big deal, and it is something you laugh off. It could happen to anyone. I just think it's very indicative of the season as a whole.

Maybe Hobbs knows something... The CATS are undefeated with D. Perry in the starting line up.......... :D

I'll share about David Hobbs and after I do tell me what you think. He had an assistant at Bama who was from Louisville Kermit Koenig (sp). Kermit was at Bama several years when he got a form of cancer. He missed a lot of time as a coach and had to give up his job. His insurance eventually ran out. He still had the cancer. Coach Hobbs went to the officals and pleaded with them to help with Kermit's problem. After several meetings they agree with Coach Hobbs and Kermit's bill was taken care of. Kermit died two years later leaving a wife and I believe two small children.

 

Maybe Coach Hobbs isn't doing a great job, but he is a great person. We don't see the behind the scenes of what goes on. I hope he stays.

If his job is on the line, maybe it does, I don't know. You never know what the adm. is thinking. However, as I stated, OTS laughed it off in his post-game remarks. My point is, this wasn't a good thing to happen if he is one of the assistants they are looking to replace.
