Louisville vs. Texas A&M - Predictions

Featured Replies

Yeah and how many times do you see a team with a seed as low as a 6 gets to play right by home? Thats right it is hardly ever! So the NCAA protects a 6 seed for two rounds, and then sets it up to where a team with a higher seed has to play a 6 seed on the road pretty much. You hardly ever see that happen in the NCAA tournament, and you can not argue that...

Even so, there is no rule against it and I seriously doubt that the committee has somthing against A&M to where they purposely made them play a road game. They just have to play the hand they are dealt, which is playing at Rupp.

I never said they had anything against A&M, because really I dont care who wins because I dont like either team. However this is something that we hardly ever see happen in the tournament, and I dont get why they did it. It really just makes no sense. And it definitely gives an advantage to the team with the worse seed, even though it shouldn't be that way. A&M definitely got the raw end of the deal here, and it is just a great break for UL...

Xavier is close to home as a 9 seed. 10 seed Gonzaga played in Sacramento. 7 seed BC played in Winston Salem. It happens every year. They seed in pods for 1 round and it's not their job to project winners and losers only who's resume fits on what seed line...

Is Lexington or Lawrence, KS closer to Chicago???

It might also help to look at the other 3 seeds and the pod locations for the same seed lines. Other 3s are Pitt (not allowed to happen), Oregon and Washington State. Other locations are Buffalo, Spokane and Sacramento...

Texas A&M 71-67.

Lets see Lexington and UL both in the state of KY and not that far from each other. Yes Xavier is closer than OSU to lexington, but its not that big of a difference where the whole crowd will be for one team like it most likely will be when UL plays A&M. And no this is something that you dont see happen hardly ever in the tournament, where a team who is a worst seed gets to play in their own home state against a better seed. There is not much here to argue GT, because that is true...Also I am just trying to do what you or UL fans would do if it was the same case for UK...;)

Check post 35. And why not be above "what others would do". A little childish, don't ya think??? ;)

I admit it is a little childish, but it is VERY TRUE...:sssh: :D

So how about tackling post #35. If you have the answer, what's the solution...

UL should just not be in Lexington. As a 6 seed I dont see why you still get the advantage of playing THAT CLOSE to home. I not saying ship them out West for their 1st round, but shouldn't be right down the road either as a 6 seed...Maybe it came out to where this was the only possibility, but either way though this is something we hardly ever see happen in the NCAA tournament. So A&M as a 3 seed got the very raw end of this deal, and UL as a 6 seed is getting treated as a 1 seed and getting to play right in their backyard in the first 2 rounds. They probably followed the same format as always, but either way you look at it. This draw is something that never see happen usually...

I'll make this easy for you fc. Let's look at the pod locations and see what it tells us. New Orleans, Lexington, Buffalo, Spokane, Sacramento, Chicago, Columbus and Winston Salem. New Orleans was taken by 1 seed Florida and 2 seed Memphis. Of those other locations what's left for A&M? That's right boys and girls... Lexington. When looking at UL they finished 2nd in the BEast and were screwed as a 6. You have to send them (as the #1 6) to Sacramento, Spokane, Buffalo or Lexington. Stuff like this happens every year based on the 8 locations picked...

You know I came to realize that after thinking about the pod locations. However as I just UL should have just not been in Lexington. As a 6 seed you should be treated as a 1 seed and get to stay in your home state. As I said in my post above, maybe with the way the tournament format works, it just played out that way. However either way it still goes with what I been saying, and that is this is something that we hardly ever see happen in the NCAA tournament. And for A&M they did get the raw end of this deal, and UL caught a huge break. I really dont know why you are arguing this...

Louisville wins this one 10+.

You don't knock teams off their seed line because of something like this. While it is a bit of a disadvantage for A&M to play in the hated rival city of the Cards it would have been worse to send UL to Buffalo, Spokane or Sacramento. There will be a chance for a similar situation next year and I'll be sure to point it out. Plus I seem to remember a bit of complaining about UK and this situation in the Wade tournament... ;)
