That and remind me of the impact free agents with a SB ring? Reggie White. That's about it. There was no Reggie White on this HIGH priced market this year. Teams are throwing loads of cash into burning garbage fires... They should have made an effort to sign Graham, Thomas, or Porter. All three of them would be huge improvements on the Bengals. Everyone else in the division is getting better, but the Bengals haven't.

Smith is not going to resign so why waste 8.5M on him for a year.

Or so they had a year to groom the guy the pick in Round 1 at DE THIS year and not force him in to early action he's not yet ready for, and when they do the fans freak out because they let Smith go and the new guy isn't ready. You're making a lot of broad generalizations with very little fact. You want Porter for 20 million guaranteed? I'm glad you don't work in the front office. Thomas was the only stud available, and it was far from a sure thing they got him with an unlimited cash flow. I do find it funny you defend one team on this site tooth and nail and blast the Bengals and Reds for much of the same. Outside of Thomas who was the last big name Pats FA? If you include trades I guess Dillon and that didn't last long. How about the Steelers? Colts? Or you can want to be like the Skins or Broncos. I'll pass...

It looked like they'd have a ton this year before the in season extensions. Like I said, it's a LONG way before the off season is over...

With Steinbach and Simmons departing along with James and us selling out the last 2 years straight; how are we poor? I'm not doubting you, but I can't figure it out. I thought Carson's deal was restructured to bring back the o-line.
