March 7, 200719 yr The Tigers go to 2-0 in the OVC with an 8=2 victory over the Colonels today at Richmond. The win improves the Tigers to 12-2 on the year.
March 7, 200719 yr When is G'Town, leaving for the South trip. Don't they have 7 games or so, scheduled.
March 7, 200719 yr Anyone have a link to a box score? Eric Severson led the Tigers going 3-4 Now batting .458 on the season. http://collegesportingnews.net/Sites/EKY/articles/artfiles/84317_EKUGC_Box.pdf
March 7, 200719 yr Eric Severson led the Tigers going 3-4 Now batting .458 on the season. That, ultimately, is who I was wondering about. Nice to see him mashing at the College level. Thanks BBG. :thumb:
March 7, 200719 yr Anyone know about Chas Moore from Beechwood? His name is on the roster, but no stats.
March 7, 200719 yr I can't believe Severson's only hitting .458 . He needs to get back to the old days of hitting .700+ the first half of the season. In all seriousness though, this makes the Tigers 2-0 against D1 teams this year, I believe.
March 7, 200719 yr Eastern should not be getting beaten by NAIA teams. No offense to G-town, I think Hagen is a heck of a coach, but I've never been real impressed by the product EKU has put on the field in recent years. And yes, I understand if they played 10 times, Eastern would(should?) win 7 times, but this doesn't help recruiting. If you can't tell, I'm not a big fan of Dominguez....

They have very few rules to follow, bring tons of kids to the team, give all of them $1000.00 scholly money and then play very few. Who was it Cumberland a few years ago that was just awsome. IMO they should compete. :fight:
March 7, 200719 yr In College Baseball, on any given day, anything is possible. Most teams have Wed. pitchers and then weekend pitchers. I think this speaks more to Georgetown's ability to compete and more level playing field, between NAIA and some D1 programs, than most realize. I like Dominguez and Corbin....and Hagen, is doing a great job.

However, Eastern just hasn't done anything to impress me during Dominguez's tenure.

EKU seems to hit the ball well but pitching, hasn't been consistent lately and I know from speaking with Coach Corbin, that is an area he's addressing, via recruiting. I've attended several of their camps and see Corbin, at many other outings. At the same time, let's give G'Town credit for their play.

True, their offense has been steady, but pitching, or development of, has been the weak points. It seems at EKU that pitchers have had their best seasons early in their careers. However, I may be biased from mainly following kids that have come from South Central KY.
