2007 Lawrence County

Featured Replies

Just to clarify on the article I was not the QB coach at Lex Cath last year. I took the year off to be with my family because I knew my son was going to be born in Oct and my wife needed help because we have a 3 year old little girl. I just wanted to clarify because Coach Sphire and Lexington Catholic was great to me in my time there. I appreciate the ADI and the kind words though.

I will say that I've been waiting for 14 years to get back home. I love the kids, the coaches, the tradition and our community here in Lawrence County! We are all excited about the upcoming season and I hope the community support builds back up to what it once was. The kids and the staff have worked extremly hard in the off season (that was before I even got back to Louisa). It's time to circle the waggons and get things back on track!

I was wondering about that but didnt want to mention anything in case I was wrong about you being the QB coach last fall. Anywho, I think if LC can get some much needed confidence and heart then they could be in for some great things this fall. We will see some things on Saturday when Raceland comes to Louisa. I would love to come to Louisa on Friday night and have the entire home stands full to where you cant get a seat, to me thats the most fun time of all. Great article though, look for LC to be the district favorite to win it.

I am looking forward to watching Boone throw the ball. I have heard of him since he has been in 7th grade. He will probably struggle at times this year throwing the ball due to inexperience, but I think he will do better as the season goes. Everyone in LC has to be patient with the new offense.

It will take a while for the football team IMO to get use to how the new offense is suppose to look and run.

JMO but I don't think that it will take as long as some may think. The offense is really fun for the kids to run and they enjoy it. When they can have an interest and fun with it like that - then they work even harder to pick up on it.

From what I have seen I do agree that the team and players seem like they are having more fun with it and be able to run everything from sideline to sideline.

I just heard that the Bulldogs are really impressing alot of people at practice. How does everyone think they will do in their scrimmages, and who all do they scrimmage besides Montgomery County?

What people is watching them in practice? I think they scrimmage Raceland & Fleming County this weekend. Montgomery County is news to me. I thought the scrimmages were as followed:

Lawrence County

8/11 vs. Raceland/Fleming County 10am

8/? vs. Fairview

I dont think anyone really knows. I have heard all these teams are scrimmaging but Lawrence County can only scrimmage twice so its hard telling.

Not to say you are wrong but everyone in the state looks impressive until they scrimmage someone.

Yeah I understand what you are saying, but for the past couple of seasons Lawrence County has had, this is music to my ears. I'm looking for to tape the games for the Bulldogs, and I'm also honored to be part of such a program that has so much pride. These boys even though they have had a couple bad seasons, go out there in practice and in games and give it their all. Football takes alot of discipline, and alot of time away from your daily life, so I think we should give these kids a break. I'm behind LC 100%. Goldsmith has this team going in the right direction, they were in alot of the games last year until halftime, but because of injuries and not alot of depth the ganmes got away from them. Goodluck Dawgs.

Is 10:00 AM the official starting time for the scrimmage on Saturday morning?

I'm not a Lawrence County person but I am a big fan of the pride and tradition that goes hand in hand with the Bulldog uniform. Anyone who does not appreciate a group of hard nosed kids like the ones from Lawrence is not a real football fan. I hope Lawrence does get back to the glory days, just not at the expence of my Cardinals.

HOPEFULLY, we will see some great things on Saturday morning. I was one of the lucky people who got to experience Lawrence County football through the 90's and its a great time to be a Bulldog fan when times like those were around, man I miss it something awful.

I have gotten a message from someone in the Bulldog camp and they do scrimmage this weekend with the teams posted in this thread(Raceland/Fleming) and next weekend is against Montgomery Co. not Fairview.
