If Whitaker is hitting and Bell can get some points in the paint (more importantly points at the line from trying to score in the paint), they could make a good game of it. As a Redhound, I don't like South but I'm not going to discredit anything that they've been able to accomplish. Steve Wright is one of the better coaches in the mountains and maybe even state. He teaches good fundamental defense and that is where South gets their offense. Defense to Offense as Dickie V would say. The Cards play the passing lanes very well. It'll be a tough task but Bell and Corbin are the only two teams in South's league right now. The Bobcats can pull the upset but I think I am going to favor the Cards.

I don't really think Bell is all that good.

 

This year's schedule is better than most years, so maybe I'll be proven wrong. Maybe they're taking confidence from the fact that they "held" Scott Co. to a 26-pt win in the Toyota Classic.

 

But in all seriousness: The matchups are terrible for Bell. South's too big, and they're really starting to click in the halfcourt game with Smith and St. John.

 

Bell beat the #1 ranked team in the 8th region as well in Simon Kenton. Bell is a more athletic team than South Laurel is. I think, as good as Proffit, Hammonds, and Smith are it will be tough for Bell to win, but South Laurel will not win by as many as they want. It will be a tight game and Bell will give South all they want IMO.

If I was Bells Coach I would let South win by 50+. That way, if they meet up again in the region in a couple of weeks, South would come in overconfident and Bell would upset 'em when it really counts.

I personally can not say Bell will beat Corbin.

 

But if I am Bells coach and ranked 2nd in the fear les rankins then I would be anticipating seeing South sometime in the Regions.

He tweaked the groin injury that gave him some trouble over the summer.

 

Still, I don't think it's gonna matter. South will win this game by as many as they want.
