although I would prefer Rudy to be a little more conservative, I will gladly vote for him over any lib.

If it's Rudi -vs- Hillary...you can bet I will vote for him...-vs- Obama? I would have to dig deeper to make a decision.

 

 

I'm not real up on what Obama stands for, but I've been told by many that he is more liberal than Hillary??

 

 

I would have a hard time voting for Rudi G if he was nominated, due to pro-choice stance, but if it came down to Hillary or him, I'll gladly pull the lever for Rudi. I wouldn't want to vote for either, but it's my opinion that if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about what's going on.

I won't vote for either Hillary or Rudi. I vote my conscience on issues that I deem important. I do not vote party affiliation. I am an independent in heart but a registered Republican simply because in order to vote primary and general you have to be registered among the main party lines. I don't think its fair but that is how it is. I am a registered Republican because of their pro-life platform . . . I will NEVER vote for anyone who is pro-choice no matter what party affiliation they are . . . I answer to a higher authority and it is my responsibility to vote according to the dictates of scripture. If the Republican party offers no better choice I will vote to not vote.

 

Fair enough. However, I would merely point out that there is a huge difference between BEING pro-choice and LEGISLATING pro-choice. I think what Rudi has said is that he personally believes in a woman's right to choose. However, I believe he also has said that he does not believe that he would initiate, propose, or otherwise actively campaign for LEGISLATION dealing with abortion issues period. Combine that with his stance on who he wants on the Court, and you have a guy I think who will not harm the cause of pro-lifers at all. Then you have Hillary as the alternative. Simply food for thought.

In an earlier post you mentioned the need for conservative supreme court justices. Rudy has said that his models for future appointments would be Scalia, Thomas and Alito. He is for limiting abortion access including banning partial birth abortions. How can you in good conscience "not vote" which may allow his opponent to take the white house and appoint more Ginsbergs and Stevens and Breyers? Its called pragmatism, you can win a little or lose a lot. I applaude your principles, but guys like you gave us the results of the 06 mid-terms.

I realize that Rudi said he would appoint justices like Scalia, Thomas and Alito but I am not convinced. I'm sorry--- I cannot go against my conscience. I just hope the Republican party brings in more true conservative choices so I can participate.
