Dayton will face the Wildcats at Newport on Friday at 7 pm. The winner of this should have second place in their district. After last night’s game by Dayton, I truly don’t know what to think or expect. Thoughts about this game from others?

Hopefully that coaching staff comes ready to play this week. Because they didn’t have that Dayton team ready to play. Dayton can’t let that Newport Central Catholic loss define this season.

It’s an important game for both teams for second place. I do believe this one is important for Dayton based on how they played the other night.

Wowser! Sounds like those coaches didn’t do anything to get the Greendevils prepared to take the huge leap of overcoming how many years of getting beat down by the Thorobreds? Maybe as simple as not quite there yet, but keep it up coaches, the Greendevils are back.

This is true. While the loss to NCC was rough, I believe that many don’t think about where they are in comparison to where they had been. Dayton won a combination of 4 or 5 games in the two previous seasons before this one. They are in better shape than plenty other teams.

Agree! Greendevils are well on the way back and makes an old man smile.

Dayton's week schedule showed against NCC. Newport by 14.

Coach Herbst was our podcast guest this week and it airs Thursday, 7:30 pm. He was very complimentary of his administration and their investment in the program. Jesse and I have crossed paths the past 3 decades. Dan Ridder's Dayton team in 1996 was awful good.

He did. I know that he also received an offer from Fairleigh Dickinson-Florham.
