Ballard Memorial is in prime position to win the district win a win this Friday night. If anyone can tell me or us when and IF the Bombers have ever won the district before that would be greatly appreciated. But this would huge for the Bombers if they can do so. If they can not then Fulton County would be in drivers seat next week with a win over Russellville. Who wins this District 1 matchup?

    No district titles in Ballard Memorial’s history. They had some really good Class A teams in the early 2000s under coach Jack Haskins but they always had to play Mayfield and Murray in the district.

    Fulton County has never won a district title either. Their best season came in 1993 when they finished runner-up to Murray in the district but ended up advancing to the Class A semifinals where they lost to Bardstown.

    This district has been interesting a couple years ago Caverna won the district for the first time ever now one of these teams stand poised to be another first time district champion. However I don’t think this district has won a first round playoff game in the three years they’ve been together which is kind of crazy if you think about it. Maybe this year will be different and if I’m wrong about this district not winning a playoff game please let me know I didn’t look it up just going off memory.

    Well I went back and looked it up and I was almost right in 2024 Russellville beat Bethlehem 28-27 but other than that no wins so like I said kind of amazing really.
