Why continue to go for it on 4th down in your own territory? This has now happened multiple times in lopsided district games. Beechwood's opponents choose to go for it on 4th down regardless of how improbable it is for them to get the first down. Fourth down and 15 at your own 30 and you don't have a first down in the game but you still go for it? Gallatin County has a pretty good punter but they chose to go for it on fourth many times in the game. It was fourth down and 15 at their own 11 yard line and they tried to get the first down instead of punting.

I am not trying to be arrogant or unsportsmanlike, but because of the short fields it was a challenge for Beechwood to keep from scoring more than 69.

I am sure they decided after the first punt was returned for a TD that they might as well go for it.

Mike Yeagle Stadium!

A much deserved honor that speaks strongly about the program and how the program was, is, and hopefully will continue to be about far more than just wins on the field.

I understand what you're saying. But when there's this much of a talent gap between programs, punting isn't going to do much to slow Beechwood down. Beechwood is just as likely to get a big punt return and either score or have a short field anyway.

I wouldn't want to punt to Beechwood. I think solid/big returns are more likely than not in 2A football games.
