6-2 Bardstown travels to face 5-2 Lexington Catholic. The Knights are coming off a blow out win over Mercer while Bardstown just got a nice win over Garrard County, a team they lost to last year.

Although both programs are having decent years, Lexington Catholic played the much harder schedule early on. This was a 36-0 victory for the Knights last year on the road. There is little reason to believe the gap between these two squads has shrunk enough for this to be competitive. However, as we all know, stranger things have happened.

I've seen both play the last two weeks.

• Bardstown/Garrard was a competitive two score game for three quarters and Garrard had just held Bardstown and forced the Tigers to punt, but it was almost perfect, pinning the Lions inside the five. Bardstown recorded a safety and then ran the kickoff back for a touchdown, making the margin a bit deceptive.

• Catholic dominated Garrard from the get-go, winning 49-0.

Bardstown has the speed to cause some issues for Catholic but I don't think they'll be able to block the Knights. Catholic is really solid and probably a state champion if CAL didn't exist. Give me LexCath by 3-4 scores.
