The Scotties started the season with a hard fought 35-16 victory over Southwestern. Now it’s on to crosstown rival Barren Co. Glasgow needs to get healthy they had two starting linemen out and a starting running back out for the Southwestern game. And then they lost probably their best athlete in the first half to a shoulder injury. I’m not sure how serious it is but if he can’t go against Barren it will be a big loss. However they still have plenty of athletes and I’m sure they expect a battle.

Barren comes in off a big win over Clay Co. Tn. They looked impressive against the smaller Bulldogs. They are big and strong and have a couple quick guys including quarterback Briggs Harris and the wideout Pierce. After they demolished Logan Co. and Glasgow struggled against LC I’m sure Barren’s teams coaches and fans feel pretty good about this game as they very well should.

So who wins the speed and athleticism of Glasgow or the size of Barren Co.?

Both are great. However…. No one beats Jay Turner and BC streaming!

I believe the Scotties are getting a few guys back this week. I look for Glasgow to find their footing and run away with this one.

I'm going to go with the Trojans in a close game.

BC - 21

Glasgow - 20

Expect a shootout in this one. I’ll take the Scotties in a very close one. This one should be fun.

Glasgow 35

Barren 29

I hope so I hate seeing players not be able to play because you know they want to be out there so bad.

If the Scottie’s ever get to full strength they will be hard to handle, but in saying that looks like still a week or two away from everyone being back. Barren co has been playing pretty dang good as well. With only one team in common. In Logan that Barren beat in the scrimmage and Glasgow had a chance to go up 21-6 before the wheels fell off. I believe this game will be a really good one on Friday night.

Dang I was hoping they would get some people back they were pretty light on the line last week.

That's not ideal when you've got a big, physical opponent coming right at you.

In light of Glasgow's injury woes, I'm picking Barren to win this week. I like how they've looked in the pre-season and Week 1.

I love that this is a rivalry worth our attention again. The size/strength versus speed/athleticism contrast makes this one a must-watch for me.

I’ve heard Barren possible gets one of there big linemen back and G-town gets there 2 linemen back plus the big physical Franklin kid. J-boy has a bad bruise and might yet still get to play. Hoping all the kids get back to full strength. As a community what more could Barren and Glasgow hope for. Smash mouth football against elite athleticism. A chance to get to see one of the top quarterbacks in the state and many other kids on both sides of the ball who have already received college offers! Reviving that rivalry was so the right thing to do. Trojan field will be packed with fans from both sides!

Absolutely! I wish more than anything I was able to make it up for this game, but I guess I'll settle for a YouTube stream. I've watched Glasgow's stream, but how is Barren's? Which one is better?

You can't go wrong with either.... great picture quality and commentary on both. Barren offers replays, not sure if Glasgow does or not.
