Johnson Central (1-0, 4A #4) vs. Madison Central (1-0, 6A #6)

🗞️ | Ground Offensive “Central” To Both Madison and Johnson

The JC offense is a roaring, snarling, beast made of equal parts muscle, menace, and precision.

Madison Central fancies itself JC’s equal in this regard, perpaps even its superior this year.

The Indians have cultivated their own reputation for being grounded in their tactics. They'll attempt to outpace, or at least match, the Golden Eagles blow for blow, stride for stride.

Last year's collision in Paintsville saw a bruising war of attrition that Johnson Central emerged from, spent but not beaten. A successful fourth quarter two point conversion set the final at 15-14 in favor of the black and gold.

The Indians smoked Conner to open the season, while JC needed multiple weather delays to find its form against Letcher Central. Another slow start this week may spell doom against a deep and confident Indians squad.

Johnson Central heads on the road this Friday night to take on Madison Central at 7:30 PM in what should be a much bigger test than last nights opener. The Golden Eagles got off to a strong start with a 30-6 win over Letcher County Central, but Madison Central will present a completely different challenge.

Madison Central is also coming in with some momentum. The Indians opened their season with a dominant 56-6 win over Conner, so Johnson Central won't be walking into an easy matchup. Madison Central was able to put up 56 points in its opener, while Johnson Central's defense looked strong against Letcher, making that side of the ball particularly interesting to watch.

This is also a rematch of last year's thriller, when Johnson Central edged Madison Central 15-14. So while it's still early in the season, there's already some recent history between these two programs.

JC's offense looked very strong last night I would compare it to a strong JC offense not like the offense we have seen these past few years JC missing a huge part of the offense Braxton Perry which is rumored to be back somewhere around week 4 or 5 Collin Cantrell is the player to watch with 3 rushing TD's against Letcher looked very good and will not go down when tackled.

This game is also one of our five games in our weekly contest:

That JC Letcher game was tight till the lightning delay. I think Madison Central takes this one.

I like Madison Central in this game of run heavy offenses. The game will probably be played faster than any other game this week.

I predict physicality.

We don't get smashmouth games like this between highly ranked teams every week, so I enjoy them when they do come around. This one could be played in a phone booth.

We're of the same mind here. JC is also without its best running back, who injects some speed and quickness into the wishbone. I like the Indians by two scores.

Johnson Central 21-14.

Madison Central 7-0 they stopped JC then scored on a 70 yard rushing TD first play.
