Well how about this game for a regular season opener. I think this will be one of the biggest wildcard games in the state this week.

Cooper makes a 4 hour hike down to Western Kentucky to play against the newly consolidated Christian County Tigers in the first game ever for the new school.

Cooper from what little I know lost a bunch of talent off last years team. When you lose talent like that, it takes a few games under your belt to really figure out what your team will be. Making a 300+ mile road trip isn’t an ideal beginning to a season for a young team but Cooper will be ready to play no doubt. How will they handle the trip will be the biggest ? Mark in my opinion. Looks like from scrimmage info against Lloyd Memorial & Great Crossing they will try and rely on the ground game to take pressure off their young QB.

Christian County is a total unknown to everyone in the state. They scrimmaged Manual last Friday and from what I was told battled them early where it was 0-0 after the first quarter. Manual ultimately ended up winning the scrimmage 25-0 but I believe manual will make a very good run this season from everything I hear and read. Christian County will get better and better each week I believe.

Will they have enough in week 1 to get the victory over Cooper? Or will the Jaguars begin the season carrying their winning ways under a new HC?

What a haul for the Jaguars. One of my favorite games of the week. Hope the Tigers can find a way to win.

Is Christian county’s field finished and ready to be used for this game? I know that was an issue they were working on late into the summer.

Field is finished and ready for Friday night from what I’ve seen on the internet.

Cooper 42 to 10!

This game should be called the BIG Change Bowl as both teams will be displaying significant changes.

For Cooper, they have a new head coach for the first time since EVER. Shoutout to Coach Randy Borchers who did a remarkable job growing the program from scratch to 5A finalists 3 times I believe. Tremendous coach and unbelievable time and dedication to that school! Congrats moving on Coach Borchers.

Cooper also loses 4-year stud QB Cam O'hara, RB Keagan Mahers, and DB Ryker Campbell who where a main part of the heart and soul of those really good Cooper teams.

So, everything is pretty new with Cooper!

For Christian County, it isn't your Granddad's Christian County anymore. That's done and so is Hopkinsville High School (I'm really sad to say). New in this very first game of the combined program known as the Christian County Tigers. Old Christian County only won one game last season, but Hoptown was a good team and in many ways was the best team South Warren faced prior to falling to Trinity in the 6A final last season, so they will have some good football players returning. But it's going to take time IMO.

So, in the interim, this is a crazy game on paper but should be highly entertaining. But no doubt about it, 4 hours is a LONG bus ride.

Want to wish best of luck to Coach Lopez and the Christian County Tigers on there first official season going to be a big matchup for them out the gate with Cooper. I like County's QB as well.
