🗞️ | Bardstown Seeks Sixth Straight Win In Age-Old Rivalry

These two have been chasing each other's tails for well over a century in one of the state's older and more competitive rivalries. Bardstown’s recent surge has netted them a two game lead in the all-time series, 43-41-2.

The Tigers have owned the Panthers of late, but escaped by the skin of their teeth last year after rallying from a two score deficit in the first half.

E-Town looks primed to get back in the rivalry’s win column after returning an abundance of production. The run defense was a sore spot last year against B-Town, as the Tigers piled up 336 rushing yards at 9 yards a pop en route to a thrilling 39-36 win.

I look for Elizabethtown to get back on top of this old rivalry. It’s seems like they have improved over the last couple years and Bardstown has went backwards. Good luck to both teams.

I watch Bardstown at their first scrimmage and Etown on Friday. Bardstown struggled to stop the run against KCD and Etown looked like they wanted to pound the ball in their scrimmage on Friday. I could see Etown having their way running against Bardstown. At KCD Bardstown didn't have much success on offense running or throwing the ball does anyone know if it was in better against Woodford? Etown looked solid on defense Friday with lots of energy. If the Tigers did not find an identity this may be the start of a long season for the Tigers. Etown by 10

No disrespect to KCD but if Bardstown couldn’t do anything against them they probably wouldn’t against Woodford Co. either.

I think this game will be close but Elizabethtown pulls out the win 28-24

This is pretty much where I'm at, as well.

I'd feel better about my pick after hearing @Hearsay 's thoughts on the game, and Bardstown, in general.

I think Etown wins this one by at least 14.

Huge momentum swing. E-Town was driving for a potential three score lead before a Bardstown defender picked off a pass over the middle and took it the other way 95 yards for a touchdown.

Bardstown rallied to take the lead on a late touchdown, then we lost the feed.

E-Town had 1:41 to make something happen.

42-38 Bardstown

What an opening night game to start this year. Final was 42-38 Bardstown comes back and wins! I knew #0 Chi Poynter was pretty good on the court but he is gonna be a problem on the football field as well. Also #4 and #32 for Etown where punishing the Tigers that got in their way they where both finishing runs on top of piles. If Etown has their star wide out I think this game may end differently. The Panthers did not have a deep threat that could take the top off the Tiger defense. Bardstown defense showed up at the end of the game and gave their offense a chance, and they took the game right from under Etown.

Once Etown is healthy they will be a problem because their running backs are legit! Bardstown is young as the season goes and those kids get reps the better the team will look.
