I wouldn’t hesitate to say this is the most loaded receiver ROOM I’ve ever seen at Trinity. Every single guy is an absolute weapon and the defense just has to pick their poison. Zane doesn’t even need to think about who he’s throwing to. If they’re open, a play is being made

I don't ever remember a Trinity team throwing the ball this well in their first scrimmage.

Looking like Carney/Blue/Ramirez to start at the ones in a hybrid 3-3-5 defense that will look to feature Vize, EBC, Howze, LA and Burrice all over the field to make up for the lack of experience at L

Rocks looked terrific today against a high quality opponent. The best they've looked in a scrimmage since the 2010 team played at Highlands I'd say. The offense was wide open and Zane was terrific on the slants and deep balls. Springfield looked gassed and had several coverage busts trying to stay with the Trinity receivers. Evan Myers-Smith, Kaleb Warner and Jason Hagan were thoroughbreds out there and Jack Stivers was a bulldozer! The running game was serviceable and I get they didn't want to run a ton with the new OL and also the dudes Springfield had on DL and LB.

Defense was fast and really got after the Wildcats QB. Sebastian Blue, Juleone Carney and Giovanny Ramirez Gomez were outstanding against the run and I thought the secondary played well despite giving up a few deep balls. Linebacker we knew would be an issue and I think the coaches are just trying to find the right three guys. Luke Vize and Cooper Burrice were very solid and made some great plays.

Anderson will be a great test but this was a very encouraging look at our squad!

Also Peyton Hilbert drilled a kickoff through the uprights!! I'll try to find video of that!

Trinity looks in mid-season form. JB is running violently at RB. Evan Smith, I said in spring he was going to be the breakout player. 6'3 and can move! Offensive line played great, which is encouraging due to the inexperienced. Freahman Mark Stivers got significant time at guard and tackle. WR core handled business. Zane threw for 275 and 5 TDs.

Defensively, they looked solid across the board. Gio at nose is a load, will make a name this year. Luke Vise at MLB looks like a grown man and has sideline to sideline speed. Cooper Burrice is my breakout player for the defense at OLB. Secondary gave up a couple hailmary jump balls, but they will be fine! Kicking game is elite.

I like the Rocks chances in every game!
