Transfers Between High Schools Policy

BGP is not a clearinghouse or platform for speculation, rumors, or discussion of potential or anticipated student-athlete transfers.

The use of the terms “transfer portal” or “portal” to describe high school student-athletes is prohibited in all high school forums.

Only confirmed transfers may be discussed, and discussion must be strictly limited to factual reporting of the move (i.e., the student-athlete has transferred from School A to School B).

Permitted content is limited to basic factual information such as the athlete’s name, sport/position, and the schools involved.

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Any speculation, inference, or commentary regarding the reasons for a transfer.
  • Any discussion, suggestion, or implication of recruiting, inducement, eligibility issues, or rule violations in connection with a transfer.
  • Generalized commentary about schools, coaches, programs, or communities engaging in recruiting behavior based on transfer activity.
  • Attempts to indirectly question or interpret motives behind a transfer.

No discussion of transfers is permitted unless the transfer has already been officially completed and publicly confirmed. Even in those cases, discussion must remain strictly factual and non-interpretive.

This forum is not the venue for reporting or debating KHSAA violations. If you believe a violation has occurred, report it directly to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA).

No false, unverified, or misleading information may be posted.

It honestly depends on how people think Ryle will be. Ryle just graduated a great senior class, that had been a dominant group their whole lives. Now that they have graduated, do people expect Ryle to

Even if Ryle takes a step back, I still wouldn't want to play them they last game of the regular season.

We have lost a couple to the other side of the river as well that is correct. Cam Thomas and Trey Barnett went to Lakota West. Cam worked out with us till May then left before his freshman year. Trey played his freshman year and was upset about playing time on Friday and followed Cam the next season. Our starting center left two weeks before the season started last year to Winton Woods for a couple games before coming back over to this side and ended up on Holy Cross's roster. The Turkeyfoot RB this season is headed to Beechwood. Who knows who else will defect down the street.

Who are the QB options this year? Just looking at the roster they have some good size lineman and running backs.

Need to get pads on them to get a better evaluation. Spring Ball will give us a better idea of what we have. Sure they have their bodies picked out but nothing set in stone... yet.

From Bill Chard on Facebook:

After a very successful 2025 Freshman Football season, there have been numerous coaching changes for the 2026 season. I would like to thank my staff last year for your tireless efforts to the kids at Dixie Heights Football. Congrats to Josh Campbell as he has been moved up to the Varsity Staff at Dixie. Good luck & congrats to Billy Phillips who took a position with the Beechwood football program. Also thanks to Amos Griffith & Chris Stallings who have been presented with other obligations and opportunities.

Thank you to Coach Patrick Burke he has retained me as the Head Coach. Also returning will be my Defensive Coordinator Justin Dixon. Justin had the defense playing lights out after a slow start to the season and I'm beyond grateful that Justin is returning to lead our defense again.

I would like to welcome 5 new coaches to my staff and the Dixie program.

Offensive Coordinator: Mike Goodpaster, with 30 years of experience I'm lucky to have Mike onboard. His experience is off the charts, especially for the Freshman level. He was a varsity head coach in Ohio the last 12 seasons. Previous coaching stops with the NKY River Monsters & Evansville Rage from the Professional Arena Leagues. Had an NFL stop in 2008 with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also is the top private QB coach in the area as he mentors several QB's in NKY/Cincy. Mike's leadership. knowledge & experience is a blessing for our program.

Other new assistant coaches

Rhys Brown, he is a Dixie Alum and a 4-year player at Georgetown College. This is his first year of coaching but has a great knowledge of the game and a very high motor, ready to get started with the young men!

Mason Schulkers, another first year coach but was an All Conference player at Roger Bacon HS in Cincinnati and was a PWO at West Virginia. Another very knowledgeable coach that's young and ready to pass on the skills he learned playing in the GCL and at WVU.

Jackson Webster, attended Beechwood then Boone Co HS, he has been coaching for 6 years mainly at the youth level but his football IQ is off the charts. Has been a head coach and even at his young age is in a management position as a road engineer proving his leadership skills.

Dalton Chard, attended Highlands High School and won 3 state titles in 2011, 2012 & 2014 as a WR. This will be his first year at Dixie and 2nd year of coaching as he previously coached at Summit View Academy Football.

So. RB Carter Skyrm 6'0 185

So. CB/WR Tre Drake 5'9 165

I met to post they where Juniors I was looking at last years roster.

Dixie fans- I have a few questions.

1. What does the team have in store this year and beyond? Can they make some deep runs in the playoffs in say, a few years, or even this year?

I remember several years ago they had a heck of a QB, Drew Moore, who took them all the way to the promised land, even though they finished as runner up.

 2. How does the middle school and freshman pipeline look?

3. Ultimately, how long is the rope for Coach Burke? This is a tough job IMO, with the class they are in.

As a fellow CCH alum, I wish nothing but the best for Coach Burke.

1. This year they'll have an experienced offensive line with size.  I expect them to be more run oriented this year with Fields gone.  Defensively, they lost most of their defensive backfield.  They need to get some size on the defensive line as last year you had kids the size of DBs playing on the line and at the linebacker positions as they were just small and got pushed around.  As for making a deep playoff run, it's hard to say.  QB play will be a factor this year and in the future.  They had a good freshman class last year with some of those guys seeing varsity reps this year. Numbers are key as even though they're one of the biggest 5A schools, they likely have one of the smallest rosters.

2. Turkey Foot's program has done well.  They've been having really good numbers over the last handful of year, but I think last year's 8th grade glass was down.  The key will be getting all those kids to Dixie instead of other schools.  The freshman program was rough a couple years ago when they started it back up, but it seems to be getting better as last year's team had some success.  Their feeder program struggles with numbers after a huge year 3 years ago.  With CovCath having a youth program, it's really hurt Dixie's.

3. No clue on Burke.  I've had nothing but positive interactions with him, and I know he's widely respected within the walls of Dixie.

@nees1212, thanks for the info!

Best of luck to the Red Colonels this year, and I look forward to the matchup with my Blue Colonels on 9/11.
