This past year went about how it was expected. It was a two horse race for much of the year with North Laurel and Bell County leading the way. Bell won the first battle, but North Laurel won the war. Coach Valentine caught a lot of slack for not making much noise with Reed Shepherd in the Sweet 16, but since he's been rolling. The Jags won their first game, and had the ball with a chance to win it against St. X. 

North graduates two of their top three scorers in Mr. Do It All Reece Davidson, and then Jordan Rawlings. They'll undoubtedly take a hit. Bell County graduates their leading scorer Blake Burnett and they lose Cayden Huff, but bring back everyone else, including freshman phenom Braxton Ferguson. They would be my favorite right now.

The biggest question right now in the 13th is who will coach Corbin and South Laurel?? There's been talk of Davis to Corbin, and Swords to Corbin. There's been talks of Sizemore to South Laurel. I'm sure if coaches are interchanging within the region, there will be some movement out of players as well. 

This offseason should be a good one in the 13th. Share your thoughts on what you think it's going to look like.  

 

Sizemore to South Laurel and Davis to Corbin would be great for both those schools. Sizemore will be leaving a lot of talent. With all that success he’s had at bell they still do not get up for basketball. I've been to what I thought was a huge game at bell and 150 people would be watching. A lot like corbin. Davis to Corbin is an upgrade IMO. He will put the time in and hold kids accountable. I admire Tony as a coach but a change of scenery can be good for all parties. Can you imagine what Davis would do defensively with those Redhound football players?

Sizemore at South Laurel would be a homerun.  His wife is from Bell Co., and they have taken care of him nicely.  As you stated, he returns arguably the best roster in the region for next year.  Tough decision. 

From an outsider, hope several teams besides North Laurel rise to the top for a change. Seems like since Reed it's been all North Laurel, time for Bell, South, Corbin, etc.

I think that is a great point and I know player movement is always a hot topic. I am pretty sure there is a KHSAA rule against players simply following their coaches to the next school. I know of a school last year during the off season who had hired a coach in name but waited for the kids from his current school to enroll prior to officially hiring. A technicality nevertheless but one that would most likely hold up in court. Unless there are several kids that enrolled prior to both coaches accepting the job I wouldn't expect there to be much movement between Bell County and South Laurel.
