I'm staring to think Mills is scared to leave Boyle County and become a head coach.

A couple of thoughts on this statement:

  1. Some guys just want to coach ball. Being a HC is about just about everything BUT coaching ball. If you love coaching and pulling levers, being an OC/DC in an excellent program is about as good as life can get.
  2. Being a coordinator at schools like Boyle and a few others is better than being a HC at 90% of schools in KY.
  3. Moving sucks... Wives, kids, schools, tenure, mortgage (and rates), friends, family, and familiarity are a lot to leave behind for a job.

I would think it’s Adams if he wants it. Don’t think Jaggers would resign from baseball to take over football program.

This is a good job from the standpoint of facilities and being in Bowling Green.  It helps not having South Warren in the district so the chances of getting to the 2nd round is higher but advancing much past that with the quality of teams that exist in 5A District 1 and 2 is not great.  That will keep a lot of guys from outside the program from applying and moving their families.  I would say this is an in house hire or somebody locally like an assistant at a nearby school.

Yes they do.

Any word on this one?

I was told by someone, I forget who, that Coach Greg Howard (District AD) requested that the Warren County schools were doing the hiring process Consecutively rather than Concurrently. I am assuming that is what is going on here.

THAT'S a new one.

This is a prime example of "central office" getting in the way and not letting individual schools handle their own business. Each of the Warren County high schools still has their own athletic director, right? I realize that the district-wide athletic director would have a good bit to keep straight between coaching resumes coming in for 3 different schools all simultaneously looking for football coaches, but if you can't handle the stress of the job, then the job isn't for you. How many athletic directors across the state do a perfectly good job of doing their own hiring? And why aren't the athletic directors in Warren County high schools "capable enough" to do their own hiring according to their own timeline?

Honest question...if there were three Warren County high schools all simultaneously looking for an English teacher, would the central office step in and tell the each school that one has to hire their English teacher first, then the second school can work on hiring theirs, and then the third?

Interviews last week. We shall see. Oh, and county AD isn’t making may friends with some of the things he’s doing. I understand leadership, but let the school admin, AD’s and coaches do their parts too.

The BOE does somethings that just doesn’t make sense to those from the outside looking in.
