The following are the schedule changes:

Friday Girls’ Quarterfinal Games---No Change

Friday Boys’ Quarterfinal Games---Games two hours earlier than originally scheduled Saturday Girls’

Semifinal Games---Moved to Sunday Feb 1st at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. @ Sportscenter Saturday Boys’ Semifinal Games---Moved to Sunday Feb 1st at 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. @ Sportscenter Sunday Girls’ Championship Game---Moved to Sunday Feb 1st at 3:00 p.m. @ Sportscenter Sunday Boys’ Championship Game---Moved to Sunday Feb 1st at 4:30 p.m. @ Sportscenter

These changes will allow all teams to leave Owensboro on Friday to arrive home before the winter storm hits Saturday. The girls’ and boys’ teams who advance to semifinals will be contacted early next week with further details.

Yeah, I was there yesterday, and they informed one coach of the HS plan.

So are they finishing the tournament on Sunday?

Yes, as of now, that's the plan.

If they can’t play this weekend and things gets tight, I’d adjust the bracket and have Lyon/Caverna play and Walton/Newport play. Choose the home team, doesn’t matter, then have the two winners play in a final somewhere else. Same with the girls. Just don’t let it wither on the vine.

I agree, get it completed, but you can't be changing the teams around.  Just nothing fair about that format.

Yeah, not ideal. Just throwing out possibilities, especially if it got late in the season.

I know during Covid they had teams play the first two rounds at home gyms. We were lucky enough that the 14th region was chosen as a home game and we  (Owsley) defeated Shelby Valley. But in the second round we played the 11th and had to travel to their home gym in (Berea) and lost. 
Our school made it to the second round of the All A State that year but it sure didn’t feel like a statewide tournament event. Part of the excitement is going to one location and having the entire tournament.
