Dixie Heights 61 Beechwood 54

Featured Replies

Beechwood inbounds the ball with 1.4 seconds remaining. A Dixie player intercepts the pass at the free-throw line, takes one dribble to step beyond the three-point arc, and let's it fly—called good at the buzzer. Not sure that’s possible in a gym by yourself.

I thought it was late in real time, hudl video confirms clock was at zero and Metzger still had ball in his hands.

The red lights on the back board are not on.

Why inbounds the ball in that half of the court? Throw a length of the court pass. If they intercept it down there, they have to make a length of the court shot.

So is the red light official or the clock?

I don’t believe Dixie has the red light. The ball was in the air when the horn sounded.

I've seen the video and the shot was definitely late (and the clock probably a little slow to start), but the refs called it good so congrats to Dixie on the win. That was really an incredible play by Metzger!

Tough news on McCormick.  Great player.

I also heard that another starter got hurt late in the game last night (Knasel, maybe?) and that it didn't look good, let's hope that he is ok.

They do have.

Is there a way to post the film so the rest of us could see? Seems that it should be obvious one way or the other.

Left foot appears clearly on shot line.  Love to see the video.

Yep, but he was still moving away from the basket and shot it off his right foot falling away.  The game video is on Dixie's Hudl page right now.  You can go to the 1:21:50 mark.  The clock looks like it started on time.  There's a delay between 0.0 and the horn.

Thanks.

Wow that is close. Hard to believe 1.7 seconds would be enough time to get a shot of considering it was touched and the Dixie player had to bend over to grab it then shoot. In real time I could see it as good for sure.
