?: JC's 2025 Stat Sheet

?️ JC went undefeated in the 2025 regular season, but lost a second round slugfest with Covington Catholic for the second year in a row.

The Golden Eagles are always bullish up front, but last year's o-line had thoroughbred legs, making them one of the state's elite blocking units. Most of that group is graduating, but look for coach Jesse Peck to pluck a few more from the o-line trees that seem plentiful in Johnson County.

Braxton Perry (1,210 yards) returns from last year's state leading ground attack, as does Austin Slone, the third year starting quarterback handing Perry the ball.

Leading tackler Dylan Lemaster and budding young secondary star Rylan Kelsey return to lead a defense that has holes to fill at all three levels.

JC’s repetition and physical, blue-collar approach allows for year to year consistency that few can match, but the Golden Eagles have been a half step behind in November the last few years. Will 2026 be any different?

Going to go on a limb and say this is the year JC knocks off either Highlands or Cov Cath in the second round.

I was at the JC CC game last year and JC gave them all they wanted but Cash and Gaiser were just too much. I know a lot of 4A teams will be glad to see those two gone!

Johnson Central and Corbin are both yet to release official schedules, so I can't confirm that game yet for Oct 2, but assuming they have a 2-year home/away contract, then Johnson Central should be hosting Corbin this year. The rest of the schedule has been confirmed by other schedules released already.

JC has been "Music-ally" inclined in recent years. Bryson is next in line. He should play a huge role for the Golden Eagles on both sides of the ball.
