If a college wants him than means he did good job so not worried about that aspect. Jeff Brohm could be coach and would be tough to beat Trinity next year, so will see how he does against teams that aren't Trinity. I expect to contend for a championship in 2027.

This comment tells me everything I need to know about your knowledge of building a TEAM and program from scratch. He is a GREAT coach and a GREAT hire. I'm glad you at least said time will tell. My prediction is next year, regardless of their talent level they will be drastically improved. I will say... I mean no disrespect to Kevin, as he is a great coach and human. Landis will get it done. 

I was there from the start in 2017 at Douglass and I can say without a doubt that St. X made a very good hire. If anyone knows about FCPS and athletics what Coach Landis did from scratch and in just 3 seasons playing for the 5A State Championship. He had a record in those 3 years of 35-5 with 3 of those 5 losses in the inaugural season. He took kids from all over Lexington and ran a program that had kids to want to come to Douglass to play football for him tells you a lot. He knows his stuff, and I think St. X made a great hire. I will root for Coach Landis and the Tigers unless they are playing another certain 6A team. lol

 

  

 

I do think they will be more physical. I believe he will sell the vision he has, but there is also a pretty good salesman on Shelbyville Road. Right now, the real battle for him is building his freshman class. Based on the hiring timeline, I would assume he is a little behind Trinity in that area.

The next challenge will be finding the right staff and the right fit. Do you keep the same guys who have fallen short when it has mattered the past couple of years, or do you try to improve by bringing in new hires? Either way, something has to change. If you had to make a decision on Wallace staying or leaving based on the last few years, what would it be? The same question has to be asked of the current coaching staff.

Can he teach his system to the current staff? Are they able to learn it, and will they fully buy in? The next step is upgrading talent. These are the main questions that need to be answered.

Time will tell.

Time will tell, but, overall, I think this is a good hire even though I had hoped for Chris Wolfe.  He seems to bring much-needed "juice" to the program. 

He seems to come from a defensive background, so it will be interesting to see what happens on the offensive side of the ball in the future.  Improvements really need to be made in the running game and the development of offensive linemen.

I understand he brought an Oline coach with him.

One key coach will be whoever is offensive coordinator.

CovCath and Boyle were better depth wise.  FD had a few D1 guys, but so did the other teams.
