TJ Maynard retired but I'm not sure if he still be coaching.

Once a Red Devil, always a Red Devil!

Technically the school will have to officially post the football coach position. As he will have to stay away from anything related to the school, including coaching for at least 3 months. So I wonder if they plan to just post it and wait it out, and let him come back and coach if he wants to still coach. 

TJ is an awful good man and football coach. Got to know him when I went to Mason and he was at Greenup. 

When I worked at Mercer, we talked often about the coaching in your hometown experience. TJ gave the Red Devils all he had, and had huge shoes to fill. 

Even my own son, Trosper (then 11 years old) said he would never speak to TJ because he loved Coach McGlone!  I had to explain that Ivan leaving was not TJ's fault. Flatwoods, Coach McGlone, the Red Devils, the fire coming out of the scoreboard... iconic in our family.  We love that place. Had our heartbroken, often....but that game was often the biggest one of the season. 

Congratulations Coach Maynard on a long and very successful career!

I have heard TJ will be rehired. The fact that they haven't posted it officially leads me to believe that as well. TJ just retired from his his day Athletics Director Job. My brother works with a guy who plays football for Russell and my brother told me the guy said TJ plans to return.

TJ will be returning barring any unforeseen plans. You can count on that (until you can't).
