Barn-burner in Park Hills, apparently.  

Heard HC had 3 free throws with .3 left in OT, missed the first two, then intentionally missed the 3rd.  If accurate, feel badly for that young lady, I'm sure that place was rocking.  

Round 2 in Districts will be a good one.  

No surprise that this game was fun to watch. Sarah Young for NDA the player of the game with 17points a few blocks and a ton of rebounds. Addie Lawrie also strong for the Pandas with 10 points off the bench.  Pandas with way too many turnovers that leave the door open for Holy Cross but they still manage to get the W. If NDA cleans up the turnovers they win by 10. They have some work to do.  Super early for this game. Congrats to Coach Stoll to get his first home win for the Pandas.

I was up there for a different event, but I noticed the student theme was Christmas Pajamas, so I'm sure that is was a fun atmosphere.

We called the game on Holy Cross Radio, and I will agree with most of this post. These two teams are equally matched in my opinion. Give Notre Dame credit for getting a closely contested home win. I said prior to the game first one to 40 might win it and that's what happened. I was very impressed with Sarah Young as she had 17 pts and 13 rebs. Addie Lawrie off the bench was excellent as well. Holy Cross contained Stallard (3 pts) and Holtzapfel (9 pts) well all night long. D'Myah Williams led Holy Cross with 13 pts and Jai Johnson has 12.

Turnovers were a factor for both teams. Holy Cross with 16 and ND with 23. Credit needs to go Holy Cross for creating those 23 turnovers. On the flip side and a concern for Holy Cross was shooting 6/15 from the FT line. If they "clean those up" they win probably win this game in regulation. All in all a great early test between 2 of the top 5 teams clearly in the 9th. Congrats to ND. Round 2 later on in the season will be another fun one.

Shoutout to the Notre Dame AD. Very nice lady and very helpful for my radio team.

Agreed, both teams leave this game with some definite "what ifs"...what if NDA didn't turn the ball over 23 times (I believe I said it will be interesting to see how NDA handles the HC pressure), HC's defense definitely had a hand in the turnovers, what if Stallard and Holtzapfel are able to get and hit more shots. While coach Arlinghaus has to be thinking, what if we make our free throws, or a few more layups, or another 3 pointer...both teams had their mistakes and their opportunities. One thing with playing this game so early, it will be very interesting to see how each team progresses from here, the district rematch should be another great game.

Jinx avoided, Notre Dame moves to 5-0 versus Holy Cross (since 1998) when the game is played in December. ?
