Final from the Briar Pitch! It should be fun to hear from some of the people in attendance!

Suprising... especially since the game was at Somerset. The Jumpers host the Raiders in a week or two, should be a good game.

Yes, Price got close-lined with 2 seconds remaining on the clock but nothing was called but a time out after it had happened. from what i hear the ref told him he didnt call the foul because he flopped in attemp to draw a foul. I've never seen something like this before it was rediculous.

Although, the Jumpers were up by 12 i believe in the 3rd quarter and let them back in it.

The Jumpers have had a problem with not finishing games. Thats twice they have let PC come back from behind and then Hazard at All A. Price was hacked hard with 2.1 left and proceeded to call a T.O. to prevent the walk b/c there was not a foul called. Also, Jon Perkins was T'd up in the first half.

Imagine that!!! A Perkins T'd up???

Another blown 4th quarter lead for the Jumpers. There's no excuse for a team that goes this deep fading so badly at the end of games. They have been without a doubt the biggest disappointment in the 12th Region this year. Giving up a 12 point lead on your home floor with the #1 seed in the district on the line is not an encouraging sign heading into your toughest stretch of games on the season. It would not be a shocker if they do not win another game this season. I'm not sure if the majority of blame should fall on the coaches or the players but there is too much talent on this team for it to be sitting at 11-11 at this point in the season.

Was Tony Gray officiating ;)

The officials were Mike Black, Bob Rankin, and Kelvin Turner.

The T was for throwing a ball at a somerset player, after he dove on the floor for a loose ball and a somerset player jumped on his back.

Joe,

I think the blame for this loss should be shouldered by the players, coaches, fans, refs, cheerleaders and admininistrators, because none of these people blocked out the Whitis kid from PC.

Is it just me or does it seem as though in the last couple of seasons in basketball from elementary school up to the NCAA that a loose ball is an open invitation for everyone on the floor to have a massive free for all? It used to be that a held ball only occurred when two players actually had simultaneous control of the ball. Now if a ball gets loose on the floor anyone can jump on top of the player or players already on the floor and it is simply called a jump ball. I wasn't at the game and didn't see the play but it has just gotten way out of hand. If you can manage to tie the player up without jumping on them that is one thing but to just be able to pile on knowing that a held ball will be called causes a lot of unnecessary confrontations.

I agree with you 100% :thumb:

when a player is on the floor in posession of the ball it is open season on them.

A word of caution here folks...

Discuss the game all you want, but let's avoid naming and bashing Referees.

So far so good... let's keep it that way. :thumb:

a good win for the Maroons.

I believe Somerset lost 7 seniors and had only one returning starter so its not like they had a lot of experience, not to mention numerous injuries.. Somerset was preseason ranked 5th in the region and now they are 6th? I agree they have lost some games by giving up a lead late in the game, but no reason to bash them like that.. Lets wait tell the end of the season to judge who was the biggest disappointment in the 12th region because they have the potential to win the region.

I'm just calling it like I see it. Thacker called this the deepest team he has ever had at Somerset. There is no excuse for the team to be 11-11. Out of their last 4 regular season games they will be the underdog in 3. Only a quick turnaround and deep run in the regional tourney will prevent them from being the biggest flop in the region this year. As for being ranked 6th in the region--you're dreaming. There are at least 9 teams better at this point.

I'd like to see someone name 9 teams in this region better than Somerset. They may have a deep bench, but how much experience has those players had coming into this year? I really dont see how they have been that big of a flop though, it isnt like they were expected to be a top team in the region this year..
