Poll, Who will win the 11th Region?

Featured Replies

Scott County is the best team but this region is loaded with teams that can win it. This region is incredible with how many teams can play.

Scott Co has the best team. Madison Central has the best odds because they have a cake walk to the regional. Bryan Station can beat anyone in the state.

Scott County may win the 11th Region this year, but they sure couldn't win the Regional title while in the 8th Region the last 2 or 3 years they were in it. I bet they are happy to be in the 11th Region.

Scott Co won the 8th in 2004 I think. If I remember right they went to the state final four that year. If I am counting correctly, after Hicks arrived in Scott Co for the 94/95 season SC won the 8th region 6 out of 11 years. I would guess that SC would much rather be in the 8th than the 11th.

Scott is the favorite of course. But if you could choose, would you take Scott County of the field???

8th region fan. Scott wins the 11th. Hope I'm wrong.

always take the field

Scott County is probably the best and most talented team in the state, but they also have probably the toughest road to the Sweet 16 of anyone, starting with Henry Clay in the district semifinals.

If they draw a team from the other Lexington district (maybe Lexington Catholic or Tates Creek) in the first round of the regional tournament, the Cardinals could have to beat as many as five top-25 or top-30 teams in the state to make it to Rupp.

Westsider is right on the money. While Bryan Station, Henry Clay, or Scott Co may have to beat 5 top 25 teams to get to the Sweet 16. Teams like South Laurel and Warren Central can breeze right through without playing a top 25 team until they get to Lexington.

I bet they are happy to be in the 11th Region.

 The 11th is the best region in the state without a doubt.

This regional tournament is going to be very good. The draw for the regional games could have a major impact on who makes it to Rupp.

Scott County or Station will represent the 11th.

I am not quite sure how the regional tournament will be seeded, so the matchups may never take place. I like Scott County's chances, but I will go with a very possible scenario:

district tourney champs:

41 Franklin County no. 2 (not sure)

42 Scott County no. 2 Bryan Station

43 Lex. Cath. no. 2 Tates Creek

44 Madison Central no. 2 (not sure)

In regional tournament Bryan Station runs the table for the trip to the sweet 16.

Should we start a thread for expanding the sweet 16 tourney for some at-large teams?
