Beechwood 68 Owen County 6

Featured Replies

Beechwood is essentially in a no win situation with these games. Beechwood still needs to get work in, to key their players sharp. Yet when they do that, there will be a few people that act like it is running up the score, even when they really aren't. However, then even when and if they do put their backups in, the opposing teams usually then also put their backups in, because at that point the opposing team also wants to try to get out of that game injury free with the game already being out of hand. Which Beechwood's backups are usually better than the other teams backups, and so the score still goes up.

Basically ever since Beechwood and NCC stopped being in the same class enrollment wise back in 2010 or so. Beechwood hasn't really had anyone in their district from 1A to 2A that could even come close to matching up with what Beechwood has talent wise, and so that is how these district games end up like they do. It really is a no win situation for Beechwood, or the other teams in the district as no one benefits really on either side in these games.

I believe the running clock started with about 9 minutes left in the first half. I disagree on shortening the quarters. A running clock moves fast. Let the other players who work their butts off

  • Since the KHSAA uses RPI we can do away with districts and therefore eliminate the majority of mismatches.  Let every team play a schedule that suits them.

Stat pad? He touched the ball 6 times and scored 5 times. How is that stat padding? If they wanted to stat pad they would have let him run every punt back for a TD. Beechwood didn’t ask to be in this

I agree with all that, fc!

Additionally everyone, I think WCPO 9 in Cincinnati is completely "tone deaf" to put a player up for player of the week in this type of game.  It shows WCPO 9 has no clue what they are doing when it comes to high school football and they are going through the motions.

Finally, Tyler Fryman is an absolute stud and a pleasure to watch.  I believe Fryman and Beechwood are victims of WCPO 9's ignorance and I see why this situation inflames some people.

Based off what WCPO did. Fryman could get Player of The Week almost every week if Beechwood really wanted to execute like that. Especially against their inferior opponents but not limited to just those games either.  But I did smile when I saw that he got it. I said "they really just did that lol". His stat line was insane. But yeah when you actually know just just a little background info it does make you scratch your head. If people are inflamed, take a chill pill.

That young man is a different type of baller.

How would the feedback have been from the NKY perspective if it had went to Fields from Dixie? He had some what of a comparative stat line. Does it get looked at from the same point of view in the Cupcake game perspective?
