The Johnson Central Golden Eagles welcome the Pikeville Panthers to Jim Matney Field for a week 4 matchup between two Eastern Kentucky powers. Both teams are coming off impressive week 3 wins against Raceland and Belfry. Can Johnson Central slow down the Pikeville quick-strike offense? Can Pikeville match the physicality of Johnson Central's defensive and offensive fronts?

Give me JC by two touchdowns.

After the Panthers comeback victory over Raceland, one thing we know for sure is JC better keep their foot on the gas.  There is no quit in Pikeville!

If Pikeville can avoid turning the ball over, I think they can put points on the board. They'll have to take advantage of every possession, because I expect JC to do JC things and eat clock while marching up and down the field. The Golden Eagles put up 440 on the ground against Pikeville last year and appear to have a little more burst in the open field this season.

I think this one plays out in similar fashion as last week's JC win over Belfry: Pikeville hangs tough early before wearing down in the second half. It's hard for any 1A school to hold up under the strain of JC's onslaught for four quarters. Pikeville's done it before, but this JC team feels like a different animal than what we've seen from them the last couple of years.

JC's Braxton Perry goes off left tackle for a long touchdown run.... flag.... bring it back.

Still 7-0 Pikeville

A rare pass attempt has been reported in Johnson County tonight.

JC goes airborne.... Touchdown Golden Eagles. XP is missed.

7-6 Pikeville

Slone fakes and keeps it around left end for a JC touchdown. 2pt conversion is good.

14-7 ?

Been watching JC for years if JC gets a 21-7 lead the chances of them losing are slim to none to a team such as Pikeville. Anything can happen obviously but from what I’ve always seen Pikeville will be drained and JC will just be getting going after halftime.

Touchdown Pikeville. Hell of a run after catch by Hager. He's got some open field ability.

14-14
