Thursday night football this week includes Ashland traveling to Lawrence County. Ashland seems to be the easy pick here but they have to go on the road and face a Lawrence County offense that is putting up big numbers.

Cameron Davis led the Tomcats in both receiving and rushing yards this past week. He is the highlight of a run heavy offense that found another level of success in week 2.

Lawrence County comes in having just hung 57 points on Garrard County. It is safe to say though they are about to see the toughest defense they have faced yet in this young season in Ashland.

This could be entertaining for a while but I still expect Ashland to come out victorious.

Should be a great game. But I expect Ashland to pull away and win the second half.

Lawrence/Garrard was a slugfest for a half with the Bulldogs going to break leading 28-23. Lawrence scored on their first drive of the second half, Garrard fumbled the kickoff, and Lawrence then put it away.

Super impressed with Lawrence's quarterback. He throws a great ball and can run it, too. They have about five guys that can score every time they touch the ball. As for the Bulldogs' defense, Garrard was able to move the ball pretty well. My expectation is Ashland is probably better than Garrard so I'd say the Tomcats are a favorite, but a Lawrence win wouldn't surprise me.

I really think Lawrence will shock some people in this game. I would make the argument that Lawrence has, dare I say it, better athletes than Ashland. The true disparity will be in the OL/DL. Can Lawrence play with Ashland up front? I am not sure they can, but I wouldn't be shocked if this a very tight ball game going into the 4th quarter.
